Not everyone who criticises Israel are Marxists but the loudest and most aggressive voices are coming from the 'progressive left' - academia, student unions, NGOs, the BBC, trade unions etc.

Israel is in a war - that Hamas started on October 7 - and sadly civilians die in every war. But especially when Hamas uses them as human shields.

Supporting Israel's right to defend itself and destroy Hamas doesn't mean cheering on civilian deaths. Just like opposing Hamas doesn't mean hating Palestinians.

Reducing a decades old conflict to 'Zionists kill innocent resistance' is not critical thinking but lazy, simplistic, moral posturing. You ignore the strategy of combat, facts and context which we've gone through a hundred times already on this thread.

There has been an arrest warrant against Netanyahu since last year. Hasn’t stopped him travelling to USA and other places.
I see the Israel plan to wipe Gaza off the map in terms of an entity. It is levelling the site now. There will be nothing left but a demolition site. What is to stop a US led rebuilding programme with the appropriation of ownership of the land as proxy of Israel? No one who matters, like other leading nations, actually cares what happens to Gaza, so who is going to stop it?

The ICC warrant is politically contested and not universally enforced. Israel has consistently said it has no intention of reoccupying Gaza. Ask yourself why none of the Arab nations care about Gaza?

As are around 1,000 deaths this week in Syria as the attempt to ethnically cleanse the Druze continues.

Apparently it's an open air prison so that sounds like a good thing to get rid of it

I think Israel has been very measured and proportionate in it's military response to HAMAS. Modern weaponry is exceedingly accurate, and on the very rare ocassion of a targeting error, Israel has always promised to investigate. Of the 60,000 dead , probably a good few of them voted HAMAS into government.
