Is Glasner the problem?

What p*ssed me off at forest was that we played 3 center backs and Woods had loads of chances.
He was the only central striker and no one was marking him , free in the box a few times.
Should have pushed chalobah into midfield , told max to man mark him and guehi to clear up any bits.
very good point, the three really ends up as one against one

It’s the other way around - some Premier League Managers think they know more about football than anyone else and are totally inflexible with how they set their teams up
OG is in danger of sticking to his principles. We can all see that certain players are out of form and Kamada is yet to work out.

Good managers realise that they have to compromise and work with what they have got. I am not saying OG isn't a good manager but he needs to do something or he will be out of a job. What is unexpected for me is Munoz, his performance has fallen of a cliff.

If you don't have wingers then your wing backs have to do the job and they are not at the moment.

A more pessimistic way of looking at Munoz is that he played well above himself for a spell and has reverted to the norm.

Every game is winnable in the league but I do feel some fans have unreasonable expectations, the only game I'd expect us to win is Leicester at home, Brentford, Everton and forest were all away, I've always said a point away against anyone in this league is a great point, utd at home is a toss up, they're poor but have a lot more quality, going into that game, I couldn't call it but would take a point. When you hear fans saying we should be beating forest away. Why exactly ?
I don’t think expecting a win after 8 games when at least 5 of those games have been winnable is unrealistic. I certainly didn’t expect us to win all of them. However, losing to Brentford, Forest, Everton, West Ham and needing an injury time pen to draw at home with newly promoted Leicester is significantly below expectations.

We are an established premier league side for the last 12 seasons , Forest were not very good Monday night , their manager was banned and their best player was not playing , we should be beating them .

Saw this constructive discussion between a Palace and Spurs fan on Youtube. Listen to what the Spurs guy said about Glasner and Palace's problem.
Yep , guy talks alot of sense. I said it before we bought Neketia (look through the posts ) and i got slated for it , most thought he was the new Andrew Johnson. I said if he was that good why wasnt he playing for Arsenal and why did Forest pull out of the sale . I hope Parish sees this .

Nketiah was only a bit-part player at Arsenal, mainly used as a substitute so he was not a striker who was a regular starter. We paid £30 Mill for him !!!!
He hardly covered himself in glory whilst on Loan at Leeds.

I think Nketiah is a very good striker, my concern before we signed him was that we didn't need a striker, we needed a winger. We got Nketiah and it felt like Sarr was perhaps the budget option for the wing. We then saw OG trying to make Nketiah work as a winger. It didn't. He's now dropped JP for the last two games, both of which he came on and looked more of a handful than Nketiah. It's a more old school approach, but maybe the obvious answer is just to play the big man with the little man against Spurs and go more direct. They play such a high line it might work.

We won't do it and I see us losing badly. By then, I'll be in the goodbye camp. I agree with what you say about the tactics.

This is from Sports Mole.
It has now been 12 months since Nketiah last managed a goal in the Premier League - having 30 shots without success since then - but the ex-Arsenal man has nevertheless been a nuisance in the final third and may get the nod again.

A nuisance? That's alright then.

As you well know, E-T, football doesn't work like that. 'Should' and 'could' count for nothing. Many of those seasons we have survived by the seats of our pants combined with passion determination and sheer bloody hard work. What I saw at Forest was a number of very well paid top professionals playing for us who dont come across as 'Palace' players of old. Not enough passion, determination and spirit compared to even last season. If OG can get them putting their hearts on the line, them Im sure with the skill we have got, three points is just round the corner.

Know what you mean , the only one playing with a bit of passion was Hughes. Im not as confident though that Glasner has the tools to do it though ( i hope he does ) its not hugs they need its a good swift kick up the arse , remind em where they came from . Bring back Derry he'll give it to em .

At Arsenal, Nketiah had Sakha, Martinelli, Trossard and Odegard creating chances for him.
I'd score in that team and I'm approaching 70.

We don't have the luxury of players of that quality and the jury is out if Nketiah is one of those strikers who can make and score his own chances .

In principle I'm not averse to playing 2 strikers if they have complimentary skills.
I'm not sure this is the case with Nketiah and Mateta despite their differences in physique that could lead to the conclusion that they'd be a classic big man/little man combination.
Mateta is not aerially dominant or adept at flick ons.
As I see it , both want to play within the width of the penalty area and be in central positions for one or two touch finishes.
They both want to occupy the same spaces and would be in danger of crowding each other out.
Could this be ironed out on.the training field?
Possibly, and if Glasner can turn them into a goalscoring combination he will have proved his worth and we will move up the table.
I can't say I feel too optimistic though.
