Such figures aren’t though made up. They are only too real. You are allowing your cynicism and prejudices to overpower reality.

You might not like this but unfortunately it’s true. We do have low birth rates and an aging population. Both of which have consequences which cannot be ignored.

You cannot magic babies out of thin air or turn them into trained workers in less than 18 years. You cannot stop people growing older unless you start having compulsory euthanasia. What a vote winner that would be!

Postponing retirement and technology will both mitigate the impact, but neither can remove it. Immigration is the only alternative to a failing economy.

a. please define 'a failing economy'

b. please provide examples of failing countries that were rescued by immigration : Lebanon ? no, its christian majority became a persecuted minority. Norway ? no, but a very wealthy country. Haiti ? no, and very poor. Sweden ? not on your nelly.

The pattern is this : a. The wealth happens and then b. The immigration happens. That is why there is so little immigration into the poorer parts of Eastern Europe. And a ton of immigration into wealthy London, France, Luxembourg.

I would have thought no definition of a failing economy was necessary. Economic decline being fairly easy to understand. Nevertheless this one was provided by AI, something you can access as easily as me:-

In the scenario under discussion the intervention necessary is to reinforce the workforce via immigration.

Countries fail for a variety of reasons. Not just economic ones. The kind of failures we will see due to declining birth rates and increasing longevity not being matched by immigration haven’t yet been witnessed but should it be attempted, they surely will be. Eastern Europe doesn’t yet need immigration. They haven’t yet got our problems. They will though catch up as sure as night follows day.

Technology will do more than mitigate the effect.
41% of companies worldwide plan to reduce workforces by 2030 due to AI. Postal service clerks, executive secretaries, cashiers, customer service agents, data entry and payroll clerks are among jobs that employers expect to experience the fastest decline in numbers, whether as a result of the spread of AI or other trends.
The technology is already available to replace waiters, bar staff and bus drivers.

so, are you mad enough to believe that immigration would have saved Detroit ? Bradford ? or Stoke on Trent ? if so, i feel sorry for you Wisbech.
