Do you seriously think it isn’t done? Try checking the facts! Asylum seekers are allocated a case worker with whom they must remain in contact. They receive explicit information about their rights and responsibilities, which includes advice on expected behaviour and adherence to UK law.

Good intelligence is vital and stops much more than we are aware of.

Finding ways to challenge and change extremist beliefs is never going to completely remove the threats, so good police work will always be needed. Whatever the source of such beliefs.

Are you serious? I would have thought it was so obvious as to make the question irrelevant. Unless very short a land border is always going to be more porous.

The reason English is important isn’t impacted by the use of translators to ensure accuracy. It’s that for most people it’s the only other language they have any kind of relationship with, other than their own. Not because of us, but because of the reach of US culture.

And when those claims are rejected? Where do they head? For many years, as I have stated before, Italy ( for example) gave illegal migrants a “ free” pass for 7 days to travel through Italy, so they did not have to entertain any asylum claim from them. Does this go against International Law, yes but only if they ‘heard” the asylum claim. I have interviewed many who have said this and, in fact, I have even seen the free pass.
Please don’t believe every country fully abide by International Law, in fact we abide more than most.

My information is that Germany far outstrips the UK in the numbers seeking asylum and that Spain, France and Italy do too. Presumably any “free passes” being given only to those who decline to submit a claim and say the UK is their destination. Whilst around half of the claims are initially rejected a high number of rejections are overturned on appeal. In Italy’s case 85% of appeals succeed. What happens to those who do get rejected seems identical to what happens here. Although issued with return orders most end up in a legal morass and remain detained. They don’t just get turned out so they can make their way to Calais.

There are no specifics on any religious text. It’s always down to interpretation. If there wasn’t there would be no sects or denominations. Everyone would take them literally rather than analogously.

They have to now, but if we were inside I suspect we would want to move it up the agenda so try to take the lead. Who knows? We aren’t in, but we would be in a stronger position to deal with this if we were. That seems unarguable.

It's arguable in as much as we didn't have much say when we were members and the situation in Germany has changed considerably since Brexit.
