Immigration

If only 9.9% is true then we need to be smarter with our interview techniques. We could simply refuse any application from those who arrive in an unauthorised way, but it wouldn’t solve the problem of where they can be deported to. Solve that and everything else should become easier.
One of the scandals concerning this is the fact that many Universities will only take foreign students in order totake accomodation rental fees and refuse a possible student living locally at home. Outrageous !

Don’t forget International students pay higher fees as well. A few years ago, a friend of mine’s son wanted to study medicine, he was a straight A+ student, so was as highly qualified to be accepted as possible. There could be no reason for this except they preferred International students, who were paying much more. He was turned down for the course and therefore gave up on his chosen profession and went abroad to teach English. Maybe this is why the NHS are so reliant on foreign labour?

The underlying issue is that universities or rather their staff do not wish to give up their cushy lifestyles or gold plated pensions. They are not interested in reforming their out of date practices. I have several friends who are lecturers at university and some of the things they tell me makes the mind boggle, often they don't even realise what they are saying.

6 month paid sabbaticals, long holidays, lecturers who aren't interested in lecturing students, so they do the bare minimum. Most just want to do their own research for their benefit or a book they are writing.

One lady I know I really upset. She was doing a research into poor people in Bradford (mainly Muslim) she was telling us how terrible their lives and blame the Tory government (Cameron). She got much sympathy from the rest of our group except me.

I asked her who was paying for the research (her wages), expecting her to say the government or local council or charitable foundation etc. It was the university, I then asked who had requested it and it turned out no one had. So she had decided that it would be a good idea to do this research even though no one had asked her for it and for some reason the university gave her a grant.

Who's going to read it I asked (she lost her temper at this point), what do you mean? Well my understanding is that governments often commission research and then ignore the findings even though they asked for them. So why would any government care about research it never asked for.

Anyway as I predicted her research was ignored by all still it was her pet hobby horse and kept her in a job.

Anyway this was an example of where universities need to be more careful with their money.

Starmer was probably advised to say that. I’m not joking either.

See the appeal to keeping The Bell hotel open for illegal immigrants has been denied. Take your medicine, indigenous Europeans.
Yup.

It's reaching fever pitch. Far from calming down this will gather momentum

Of course there isn’t more done, there hasn’t been for years. We used to be able to identify overstayers on departure ( if they left) but embarkation control was removed to cut costs. So when they leave University you honestly believe that Universities know where they are? Laughable. It is hilarious ( and a bit sad) that you honestly believe what you write. Believe me, you are way of the mark

It's a cheaper easy and safe entrance to pay a foreigner uni fee for some shite college than a people trafficker to use a dinghy.

Soon to be ex leader
Did you see his majority?

I'm glad it's happened, let these Steeley type loons drift off into their enclave, they think they are a majority because they are so mouthy and effective at closing others down but once they've dropped out of the Labour party properly then the government may be able to find the balls to move for the people and not against them. I don't think he's nearly brave enough and his advisors can't see the fever that has built up in the people who are tired of being called bigots and racists when they simply are not.

I think if you had a vote for mass deportations today it would easily win.

Medicine isn't about just the grades. My daughter tried, she has 3A* and an A but it'll only get you an interview IF your statement is incredible and you have a bunch of extras about you, such is the demand. I can go into detail in convo but essentially the competition is fierce, she had 2 interviews which she did but wasn't selected and 2 straight rejections but still ended up having to take her unconditional at Birmingham instead. White English girl didn't help at all though.

She'd have been a great doctor imvho, I've much to criticise about the process although it was in 2015.

He'll only end up costing a few million before we get rid. And he'll end up somewhere else again anyway. How worthwhile for us all.
Am thinking it might kick off outside immigration centres again. So it's costing the UK shedloads having undocumented illegals
