Has Parish ruined this season?

I know, but he is a numerical replacement for Ward. Ideally we would have new quality cover for Muñoz, but nothing at Palace is ideal, and we still have Clyne.

Interesting to see if we could get a replacement for Guehi in January or what fee we ask for him. Would he want to leave then, since he can sign a pre contract with anyone who wants him for next season?
If Liverpool are on for the league he might go, his smart play is wait till end of season. Bags of options and financially he will win

...except that with regard to your final paragraph Glasner said in the press conferences before the window closing , and I quote directly, that Guehi 'cannot' be sold.
He went on to say that the decision was down to Parish, but if a successful season was to be had then Guehi should be kept.
There really is no ambiguity around this, whether you think Glasner was right or wrong to say this.
I think he was right to say it, but not at a press conference, in private

Indeed.
I think Glasner has been a lot of the problem here.
He should have kept his opinions for Parish's ears, not press conferences.

He has given the press ammunition to be inventive with their stories

Parish is replaceable, Glasner isn’t!
Who, with a passion for this club and its long term welfare at heart is waiting in the wings to take over from Parish? Got any names for us? because if you haven't he's not replaceable.

As for Glasner, how long did you expect him to stay before the furore over the transfer window? Certainly not 15 years as Parish has done.

If it comes down to one of them having to go in the next month then, unfortunately, it has to be Glasner.

Some of the stick parish is getting is unwarranted in my opinion.

Yes he has made some mistakes along the way and makes a few every few years but without him there's no promotion, no 12+ years in the premier league, no Fa cup, Community shield, European tour.

If we let textor run the show we would have 2 seasons in Europe and then bankrupt and back to the championship. Parish has only and will only ever have the clubs best interests at heart. Here's to hopefully another 12+ years in the prem until he retires.

Now that the dust has settled.....

Parish will always have the best interests of the club at heart. If not for him we wouldn't be anywhere where we are today. With parish we could do another 10+ years in the premier league with a few more cup runs.

We arnt the "big 6" we can't keep our players and we do have to sell.

I guess my only issue was that we should have had the replacements in January or during the summer. And that the UEFA dibalacal should have been put to rest sooner.

Seems this summer we have taken an age to do anything. Season ticket renewals, memberships, pre season tour announcements, kits, transfers, even the training gear isn't on sale yet.
you're right, the debacle was diabolical. Sorry, not normally a grammar snob but I couldn't resist it.😉

with all due respect, this is mental.

Both are replaceable. 🤐

Glasner has been a breath of fresh air (after the fleeting gasp that was the first 6months of Vieira), and has managed us to our greatest of periods (though, not in the league, yet.) but replaceable he is not. I question his loyalty to the club over his own success.

Parish has delivered strength, stability and success in his 13 years at the helm. It's been painfully slow process at times with missed opportunities and failed promises (i.e. the new stand), but his focus was always those 3 things. Could he have done better? most definitely. This can be levelled at any owner/chairman. Would another person have delivered more? possibly. possibly not. The grass is not always greener, and I am very happy with the job he's done.
He'll step down at some point. Hopefully, as was one of his promises, handing it over to the right person. We can only hope that when he does, he hands over a healthy and successful club.

She has been put in charge of monitoring incoming emails 🙂

I think Steve Parish is only human. Sure he's made the odd glitch, but I think it's unreasonable to think he's got anything but Palace's best interest at heart. I think he's supremely competent at the task, because we all have to make compromises, and the secret is knowing how to cut your cloth accordingly.
I'm as pi5hed off as anyone when things don't go the way Palace want it, but some things are beyond our control.

I hope Parish dusts himself down and carries on doing a great job. Even if it's taken him a bit of a while to lay the first brick of the New Stand 😀

As usual know idea if there is any truth in it, but Sky are reporting that Parish pulled the plug on the Guehi deal at 4pm.

Doesn't explain the deal sheet..... but can that be put in by the buying club?

Interesting if true. Suggests all the click bait about him going to the gym rather than make a decision and arguments with Glasner is pure BS. He pulled the plug once the Weed cart horse was binned to Wet Spam. Coupled with Glasner’s denial that he ever threatened to resign, it all feels less dramatic.still to hear what Guehi made of it all though.

If it looks like BS taste like BS smells like BS guess what it most properly is , there's no logic in the statement , it may have been discussed and Guehi told if we cant get anyone then we will have to pull out , simple and obvious giving Guehi heads up on state of play , but sky Liverpool don't like that hence there view of the 4pm

Yes, BBC are Man United and Sky are always Liverpool.

I'll take a little guess at January's dealings. We'll say Liverpool can have Marc for 25mil. They'll offer 18, then finally 20mil. The club will be surprised by that. They won't have seen it coming. We'll scramble around looking for a loan at the last minute. There will be a couple of young players available. Or Chalobah will have fallen out of favour in some kind of deja vu moment. I can imagine us needing a centre midfielder/ defensive midfielder too. We'll get someone we've already been after. So that's two for January. No need to even watch Sky now.
