Other opinions are available. One being that as the police at the time were following an alternative strategy to try to allocate blame to individuals is a waste of time, money and resources that would help no one at all. It was the strategy that failed. Not those implementing it.

We need to ensure that what we do now is fit for purpose by implementing the recommendations. Not look for people to punish from actions in the past. Unless there was a clear dereliction of duty. Not the implementation of then agreed strategy, however much it is now discredited.

Apparently but only statistics are facts.

How you present anything can change perceptions.

You have only to read the Mail to know that.

Fact checkers tend to look at individual claims and then verify their accuracy. Not much presentation involved.

Why are white groomers always investigated ASAP and the rape gangs of a different colour are not in a way the numbers state they should be !

People can hold any variety of personal opinions and still do their job. Being asked to deliver a strategy doesn’t mean you agree with it. Nor is it improbable that if you want to change a strategy you choose someone to deliver it who was opposed to the previous one.

That’s today’s problem. Lies are regarded as truths and the truth dismissed as biased opinion.

How many times have we read celebrations in these pages that the internet, and the rise of bloggers and citizen journalists, have enabled the real news to emerge. News that was previously suppressed by a compliant press on behalf of a corrupt government, that together are part of an elite?
