Grooming gangs

Yes, but he is now admitting he didn’t actually see anything but was only repeating rumours. Read the article.
So he's responsible for the supposed content of this message coming to the public's attention. He claimed he was told about it by different members of the police. Maybe they were all acting in good faith but it seems odd anyone in his position would make this claim without proper evidence.

And the fact that there are now isn't any consolation to the twenty years worth of victims and their families.
The best way to provide any kind of consultation would be to fully implement the recommendations made as a consequence of the very long and thorough investigation. It would go a little way to demonstrate that lessons have been learned and improvements made.

Providing consultation does not though appear to be any kind of factor in the thinking of those baying for another inquiry. They are just playing politics.

I’m paraphrasing here but The inquiry was called to look into all child abuse and rightly so but was instigated to happen by dint of the grooming gangs of Asian Pakistani scum. They are mentioned once in some 500 pages and Rotherham once in 500 pages. Even if as claimed only 5% of child abuse is committed by these scum would you not expect at least a section be dedicated to the scum rape gangs or a mention of ethnicity more than once or even pages 200-225 etc.
The report is a cover up of the Highest amount and again paraphrasing farage who said it was a shotgun scatter approach when this needs a rifle shot approach dedicated to the Asian rape gangs.
Have you actually read it? If not I suggest you do because to suggest it’s a cover up is both wrong and an insult to its author.

"We heard time and time again how allegations of abuse were ignored, victims were blamed and institutions prioritised their reputations over the protection of children."

What is this 5% figure? Number of cases brought to trial? Number of convictions? What are the offences referred to? Looks like a squid-ink figure designed to deflect from what is in front of our noses - yet again.
The 5% is quoted to point out that the vast majority of child abuse happens in other settings, most notably within families.

Do you think that 95% of abuse ought to just be ignored?

You would need to ask him and those who told him.

Never forget that “a lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes”.

As Musk is repeatedly proving.

Which is why we don’t need another inquiry to identify what needs to be done. We need to implement the recommendations from the one that we held.

Whether what was heard was true, or just a perception, doesn’t change that. Making things better is what’s important. Not finding out what is already known.

Another case of "Don't look back in anger". Yes, those with responsibility messed it all up but never mind that; look at the now, not the past. No accountability anywhere.

the approach where a younger person drives around in a nice car and 'befriends' young girls is clearly the pakistani/Indian MO and is now referred to as grooming gangs.

Clearly this is terrible and need stop be stopped but this makes up less than 5% of all child abuse.

Online abuse seems to be more common with non ethnic creeps - see below, all are white and many are women.

So the numbers involved across various towns apparently runs into thousands, and yet you claim it is just 5%.
Doesn't sound very plausible does it.

Why try to marginalise it? Do you work for a Labour council?

If anyone deliberately facilitated abuse then they should be, and doubtless would have been, held accountable. The inquiry’s terms of reference obliged them to refer any such discovery to the police.

However, honest mistakes, or policy decisions that were later seen to be inappropriate, do not fall into that category. Pursuing those who do their jobs and take decisions that are either later seen to be unwise, or don’t match your own, isn’t seeking accountability. It’s conducting a witch hunt.

Purely on a practical level to do so would be a hugely expensive knee jerk reaction to Musk’s interference that would deliver nothing and delay implementation.
