Glasner to Extend?

He originally signed a 2.5 year contract so he has another year to run - the article implies he is out of contract this summer, which he definitely is not.

I would have no issues with him signing for longer and we clearly have no plan B, however, i think he may be reluctant to do so. He is clearly ambitious and may not want to limit his options going forward.

If we offer a decent payrise i can see maybe an extension for another 1 or 2 seasons on top of the 1 year he has left.

He is a decent person so will not want to break a contract if a better offer was to come in.

He is in a wonderful position either way and rather than money for him it may come down more to what the club's ambitions are going forward. For example, building a new stand will clearly limit our transfer plans.

The one thing that our 3 multi billionaire investors are able to spend money on without affecting our status is the ground. Not sure on your thoughts, but I would like to think they will get properly invested into this and given their huge wealth it shouldn’t really affect our investment programme in the team.

Parish did mention that he would like the club to break into the Top 10.
At this juncture I do not envisage Glasner being at the helm for the start of the following season.
Whether he is in situ for the entirety of the forthcoming season is a matter for debate.

I can see a top club coming in for OG. However is he better suited to a palace or can he adapt his tactical approach where expectations are different. He’s a smart guy so maybe but no guarantees

Olise and Eze were on fire , Wharton and Hughes dominated possession in midfield and JPM fired the bullets.

The following season Olise had gone, Wharton was injured and Eze was struggling for form and fitness.
Glasner adapted as we were not as well set up to retain possession.
We became a more counterattacking team adept at scoring from set pieces.

I think Glasner is very methodical and organised is his approach but can adapt to get the best out the players he has available.

Fair points. It is the expectation that adds the pressure. When he has tricky run last year majority of fans stayed with him but lots didn’t. At a larger club with higher expectations that might have played out differently

I have always thought, and still do he is a one trick pony, but it is a very good trick, he is more reliant on the type of player, i have doubts about him at top level, but i had doubts about him after 10 games last season. 🙄

But who the fcuk is Texter to criticise Parish? We might have needed his money for a time, but these rich investors come and go and have no love for anything other than money, let alone the clubs they’re at. After 12 years in the premier league and an FA Cup win SP’s not going too bad a job.
It sounded like Texter had the needle with parish for not letting him have more control than he did anyway.

If not then they will both be gone.

I understand the points you make , but no two situations( or seasons) are exactly analogous.
As it stands we're looking at Sarr or Edouard as central striker options where JPM is unavailable or substituted.
At Lerma in the back 3 if one of the 3 are out.
At Esse, Kamada, or Devenny if Eze or Sarr are unavailable.
It needs addressing.
