Glasner Out

I am not angry at Glasner or parish. When Glasner arrived I am not the only one that thought this could be a highly successful appointment with risks of it later on falling apart, he has a track record of both. He used us to leverage his platform after unceremoniously leaving his last job. He achieved that and more and now wants a big club move. He kept raising the pressure on the club to succeed and outgrew the owners who feel we need to develop the stadium to survive.

Selling Guehi I am still not seeing the benefit at just £20m. Surely the different between 4th from bottom and potential top 8 as well as European adventure outweighs the £20m. I feel there is more to come from this story. The problem with Glasner going and some saying get paddy in is we lose all our coaches with Glasner. Tough few weeks ahead and can only hope Parish has a good contingency plan

We spent £26m on a Spain international. Ok he’s struggled but it’s not like we replaced Eze with a teenager from the academy. What did people expect? That we went and invested £50m on a player? That was never going to happen.

If OG said we should have had more cover at RWB and a back up for JPM then I’d agree. Continuing to raise Eze, a player who wanted to go, we got a record fee for and replaced with a player who has more international caps and more international goals than Eze is not really a great case.
We replaced Eze with a player who doesn't even play in his position. We got over £60 million for Eze and Pino (apparently) only cost £21 million (with the rest being add ons) and who has a completely different profile. The club then spent £35 million on Johnson in January, so we clearly had more money, plus we already have Sarr and Pino who prefer to play on the right. It just doesn't make sense to me, even taking Glasner out of this, as we now have three right wingers and no player whose strongest position is on the left.

I still maintain that yesterday was the final straw for Glasner himself.

Not saying I am correct however all this noise and his comments could be a result of the fact he is not getting results, has no idea how to change things, and is making every excuse possible to avoid taking responsibility and pin the blame on others for the sake of his own career.

I really cannot envisage how him staying works for any party, and most concerningly for my football club.

Like any fan, at the end of the day, I just want to see my team compete in football matches. We have not been for a few months. I’ve lost all faith in Glasner’s team to the extent each matchday holds little to no interest for me.

As soon as Glasner is out, my interest will be rekindled. My memories of Glasner will exist in two separate moulds. The glory year and a half and the absolute shambles.

No, I don't think anyone expected a £50m spend on one player.

And you can't like for like replace Eze.

As for Pino, the following is an interesting read ;

there was an article last week with quotes saying that the greek winger had wanted to join us after we bid big on him. The problem was that bruges turned our offer down so then we did what most clubs do and went after a different target.

Not everyone thought that, yes the squad was the greatest thing since sliced bread, the manager is a seriously different manager, it was always going to end in tears, is this the moment i said i told you all six months ago, probably not
I don't agree and I'm not trying to/ expect you to change your view.
He got improved performances from players that I doubt the players even thought they were capable of.

He moulded us into a team that didn't fear anybody , even the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool who we managed to beat to achieve the only major trophies in our history .
Earlier in the season he managed us to be the team with the longest unbeaten run in Europe - yes, longer than even giants Real Madrid, Bayern, PSG, Man City.

I understand you dislike him but to disparage his achievements so vehemently and claim it's just the squad that achieved them?
That seems a little unfair.
Glasner had a good track record before joining Palace, and I'm sure he'll continue with a good track record when he leaves.

No one has turned on Glasner. It’s Glasner who had turned on Palace.

After all the dreadful recent results we kept faith with him but yesterday’s outburst was unforgivable. If that’s truly where he is at in his head then we are better off without him.
What did he say? Unfortunately, I don't have the possibility to watch english TV in Austria and my lack of talent with doing proper online research in combination isn't helpful 😂

Before Sunderland only West Ham were below us in the form table for the previous 5 games. Even Wolves above us.

After Sunderland we are ranked bottom over the last 7 games

And we lost to Macclesfield

If this had continued, with Glasner having already confirmed his decision to leave in October, then he would be facing the sack based on the team's performance

In that context you could see his petulant outburst as a way of distracting from how badly the team was doing and that this could be disrupting his career plan of stepping up to a big club in the summer.

I do think that any big club looking at what happened yesterday would be reconsidering any interest they had with him. But I'm sure it won't put off lots of other medium sized clubs who would quite like a transformational coach who could win silverware even if it all goes sour two years down the line.

Glasner and his players feel abandoned. He has a small squad , and apart from the team on the pitch , he has youth players on the bench.
He wasn't told his Captain was being sold until the last moment. Glasner will see out his contract, because he still feels the players are behind him.
(summat like that, post-match Sunderland)

Thank you. I guess paired with emotions it felt like an outburst? It also depends on HOW to say things. Am I right with ny assuming that it was pretty emotional? Not that emotions likeba toddler whom one took away The Schnitzel, but still...

Pulis said there had been a meeting attended by himself, the chairman and a couple of players when a deal regarding his severance was agreed. Steve was able to prove to the Judges satisfaction that it was impossible as he was having his hair done, a lengthy process and he was not at the club at the time Pulis claimed.

And the judge believed this? A bald guy "getting his hair done"? Lol. Awesome

Glasner says what he felt he had to say safely in the knowledge that he had told Parish 2 months previously that he would be leaving at the end of the season. How is it even sustainable now to keep him on? I've yet to hear him mention his own role in our worsening performance, this is a giveaway.

Selling Guehi and selling Mateta are the correct decisions.

Keeping Glasner on.....seems like the wrong decision to me.....But if Parish and co are strongly in favour of a set manager who isn't available till then I can understand it.....Awkward though.

I'd rather Paddy took over.

You can't slag your bosses off like that while you are taking their coin.

He did a lot of whining but took no personal responsibility.

He isn't at a top five Premiership club and top players will want to leave. He knew that coming in.
