Glasner Out

Sky sports have done a piece about Manu U “DNA” and unsurprisingly OG comes quite far down their list of suitable managers!
We all could have told them that.

Every day they do a f***ing piece on Man U DNA. Remember the rule: Sky = Man U, BBC = Liverpool. One set of flash c****. One set of public school nerds trying to prove their working class credentials.

I agree with you that this dip is explainable (and has been exhaustibly!) and I also believe we will suffer for a bit longer until the missing players return.
But we also have to remember we have gone on much worse/longer dips in form and yet been less exasperated by them.
Maybe we need to be less SED and more RAP (realistic about Palace) 🤣
Some older supporters have seen it all before and are realistic. In 2025 all the stars aligned at once, the team gelled and we had very few injuries to key players. We knew it wasn't going to last forever, once Eze left, who was the spark that created so much.

We may say, "experts" may say, "he's not a good fit for Manchester United", but who really knows what Oliver Glasner is thinking? He's keeping his cards close to his chest and from now to the end of the season any number of vacancies will arise. His career trajectory will take him to one of them.
He was fortunate enough to have a set of players at the right moment in time to do something special at Crystal Palace FC, everyone bought into the moment and great things happened. Maintaining that momentum would always prove difficult, and so it has proved, with the loss of one star player, and injuries, absences, and insubstantial replacements weaking the team to the point where it is now a case of stopping the rot, rather than dreaming of further heights.
Thus far Oliver Glasner doesn't appear to have a plan to stop the malaise. His stock will rise if he can turn it round and Palace make forward strides. He may well realise that he has taken Palace as far as possible using his set system and with the players and finances available.

What to make of this?
A. It's more cobblers
B. We're not in a good place at all.

I cannot believe how the Mirror get away with peddling such lies as they do. They do seem to detest Palace and revel in any 'story' that has a negative impact on the club.
If we listened to The Mirror Marc Guehi is definitely leaving this month (with no replacement lined up), Wharton is off to Liverpool, Daniel is leaving, JPM is going to Man United and Oliver Glasner will walk out on us to join anyone but stay with us.
If they thought for one second people would believe all of the above they'd be reporting it as fact with undisguised glee. As it stands they do their very best to down play Palace's chances against anyone and act like our best players are too good for Palace and therefore should be moving to 'bigger clubs'

I think with the return of our key injured players coupled with any new players brought in in this window will see an upturn in form and a possible momentum build towards a big push at the end of the season. Why not? Glasner has done it once, he can do it again. The players believe in him and so do 95% or more of the fans.
The Conference League is a very realistic target. So is a top half finish. That represents another very successful season. Who knows, if we find some form and the draw is relatively kind to us I dont see any reason why we cant go deep into the FA cup either. The only reason we're not looking forward to a Carabao semi final is simply Kepa finally guessed the right way before Wally did.
I think there is still a chance OG could agree a deal to stay at Palace because he is not motivated by money, he believes in the squad he has at Palace and he has said (more than once) he believes this team can go further and achieve more. Its up to the board next week to convince him they can match his ambitions and support him. We only have to be patient and wait a bit longer before we start to see which way the wind is blowing.
If he decides to leave in the summer I will be forever grateful to him and wish him nothing but the very best success in the future and hope the club identify a replacement that can at least keep us moving forward.

How do we know OG isn’t motivated by money?

Well, he has said as much many times and I personally feel he is a genuine man that doesn't lie. We all want to be paid well for what we do but Glasner is. Whether he extends his contract at Palace or moves on he will get a pay rise regardless and rightly so. I just dont think that is his overriding priority.
Unlike some managers where it is obvious that its their no.1 concern
