Would be a quality signing. Better than anyone else we currently have in midfield to partner Wharton. Would add great energy, goals and ability.

When we originally signed him on loan I heard from somebody close to the club it was because our analysis showed we ‘burnt out’ in games in midfield earlier than any other team in the EPL at the time. Feels like we are in a similar position now.

Think it is very unlikely as I would have thought he has his sights set higher than us.

Gallagher isn't better than Hughes, Kamada or Lerma? All of who are getting into their last years at top level.

Maybe Lerma, but he can play defence as well. Not better than the other two in my book.

I disagree pretty strongly. But I also don't think it will happen. At a guess it would be another 30+ million at least. Gallagher is a real workhorse with quite decent ability. He will get forward but also track back. Agree Lerma can have a use as a centre back. But he can't pass, which can get important. Hughes can't shoot. Gallagher can do both.

I'm not really sure why Gallagher is so highly rated. Yes, he is busy and aggressive, but he is also seriously lacking finesse. A good squad player, but not for an inflated price.

I tend to agree but I also think it's what we could do with. On a long contract. Kind of a McGinn type in a couple of years. Teams need that energy.

I'd take him for a sensible price, but he is wanted at Atletico.
