Fulham vs. Crystal Palace match thread

2 things. If Munoz was injured he could in theory have had a night off and some t*** started on him. That seems plausible but I doubt very much it is him.

More importantly, how is Mitchell not getting into the England team let alone the squad. Madness.

In his post match SKY interview, Glasner said he didn't see the Guehi winner because he arranging to bring Esse on for Pino to send the message that we're still trying to win the game. When he realised that we'd scored he sent Devenny instead. Looks like Esse may well get some minutes over the next 6 weeks and Uche will get more.
This is positive as was Uche coming on and the performance he gave - raw but better than we would have got in half an hour more of Mateta.

Fair play to Glasner on his choices today - Eddie as a 10 from the start and he scored. Clyne was solid and almost scored. Subs of Uche up top, Lerma in midfield and Kamada as a 10 on the left for JP and Eddie was pretty universally derided on here but we were better after that than immediately before, Canvot also got experience and was encouraging.

We did ride our luck a bit but I still think we have had more bad luck than good this year overall. Excited for Dublin now.

A decent team performance to be fair. Wharton was back to his best and a class above every other midfielder on the pitch. Mitchell compensated for Muñoz and Sarr missing by getting forward more than he usually does and linking well with the front three. Clyne on the other side did great considering. Great to see Nketiah getting a start and scoring. He’s a more natural finisher than Mateta but struggled to play 60 minutes. Uche looks a handful but has a lot to learn. Back three excellent as usual as was Henderson. Kamada was busy and hard working as usual. Lerma was solid when he came on. Canvot and Devenny did alright. The only negatives were JP who struggled to control the ball or find space and Pino whose passing was awful.

Was always said that when a team plays badly but still wins is a sign of a great team.
Palace have played pretty badly twice this week - and got 6 points !
Lets see if we can play like that again - in Ireland - then.

We weren't poor, we weren't lucky and the substitutions were not ridiculous - posters on here saying so are silly billies and should have the humility to admit it. We had three very good chances to score before they did, and shoring up the midfield and taking off the strikers was a master stroke, we were in control last 30 min, Marco Silva is in his own parallel universe, the winner was coming. Wharton imperious, Mitchell brilliant, Guehi was Guehi, but that over-hit Pino through ball to Mateta first half was the worst pass from a Palace player since Chong Lee's up at Burnley under de Boer. I thought we were in a false position when we were fifth - I now think we fully deserve to be fourth. COYP!!!🙂😍👍

Honestly, I didn’t think Uche did ok considering he at least moved and was a pain in the arse for the Fulham back line. Reminded me of what JP first came into the side.

Pino much better on the right side. I would move him there while Sarr is away and then swap them because Sarr was excellent on the left against England.

Anyway, top top win that. They were the better side to be fair but we are in the TOP FOUR mid December… ridiculous
Thought wasn’t much between us, we just were more clinical on the day

A fairly even game overall that could have gone either way really. A couple of lovely goals and a big slice of luck with their 2nd being ruled out for a tight offside. Saying that, there was a challenge from Anderson in the first half that barely got a second look, which to me looked like a definite foul and potentially on the line of the penalty area.

Either way what surprised me the most was our energy levels in the last 20. The subs clearly helped with this and although Uche looks raw and fairly rusty I do think he can be useful (a lot more useful than a knackered Mateta being forced to play every minute). It'd be good if him and Esse could slowly start getting more minutes as I still think they can both offer us something different and it'd ease the burden over the upcoming run of fixtures.

Fantastic 3pts, now onto Europe.

Ifs and buts as usual - IF either Burnley or Fulham had a goalscoring striker they'd have probably got the better of us BUT if they had one they probably wouldn't be where they are in the league. On another day they might both have made their pressure pay. BUT they didn't.
On another note I haven't seen much of Andersen since he left but on today's showing I'm happy with what we've got.

After Uche’s cameo today I thought he played the No 9 role well. I would start him in that position Thursday resting Matteta for Man City match. Surely we don’t need everyone that started today for Thursday? As for today, a much better Fulham than Burnley team gave us a really hard game and it could have gone anyway. Gladly we played better than last Wednesday and got the win. Special mention to Clyne who played well for a player who hasn’t played for a long while 🙂

My response got lost, and I cannot retype it all

But the squad did well today, Eddie with the first goal, Nathaniel with OG's MOTM and Uche winning the corner that led to the winner

We have Hughes and Lerma to come in for central midfield

There can be some relief for the first 11 - and we might find some great performances from the rest of the squad
