That's quite a challenge. Since AI is apparently a reliable source here's what it says:

Of course personal experience is valid. Whether more valuable than a wider view is a matter of opinion. Being too close to anything can warp your judgement whilst looking at the bigger picture from a distance, without any emotional engagement, can provide a more balanced response. In any case all we have here is a tiny sample, dominated by those with a particular political viewpoint. It’s hardly representative of the whole of London.

Sure, all my friends broadly take the same line as me but I don’t restrict myself to them. I am here, which is hardly a repository of liberal and progressive opinion.

No one said it was easy, but it must be done. I won’t repeat all I have said about the need for reeducation and the relegation of religious belief but all you are doing is reinforcing it.

Loyalty to the country, our standards and laws ahead of anything else has to become a prerequisite for anyone living here. Alternative ideas ought not be taught and anyone who does become a criminal.

I would move to a position whereby every citizen has to affirm their principle allegiance to the Crown and the Country every time they renew their passport. Indefinite leave to remain being withdrawn and replaced with renewable 10 year visas with the same requirements if they are to be given. Anyone refusing on an ILR gets deported. Commit any offence against the state, get deported. Any citizen refusing to sign, or commits an offence against the state and who remains a dual national, gets deported. If not, jailed.

It's more representative than you'd like to think, perhaps some posters on here feel more able to express their opinions due to the anonymity granted by the site.
The constant dismissal of those opinions is a major factor behind both Brexit and Trump's re-election so the next time those subjects come up it might be worth reflecting on who exactly was responsible for creating the climate in which they occurred.

I don’t dismiss the quite obvious phenomenon of people feeling unheard and marginalised. Which exists in a number of communities and not just the one you are talking about.

It’s been a failure of politics that this has happened, that people feel disengaged and distant from decision making and is the primary reason for the growth of populism.

Populism is not though the answer. Ultimately it makes things worse, as we are witnessing in the USA.

The answer is to go back to basics and ensure engagement. I am afraid that will take generations and something I won’t witness. Whether the damage that happens before then can be managed is an open question. The roll back on the need to deal with climate change being the biggest issue. It concerns me greatly.

It's not just being unheard and marginalised. It's also constantly being told your opinion is wrong. About everything by others who don't know what they're talking about but still exude a sense of self importance and certainty. There may be a way to talk people round but why should they when they don't agree in the first place.

makes me want to reply "oh, wow, we have so much in common. I too believe in a religion with a history of nailing anybody who disrespects our belief system. Of course, my faith is older and is the one true only final answer".
