Flags.........& Politics.

Many Muslims have no intention of assimilating into our way of life. You either know that or you’re so far removed from reality you shouldn’t be giving an opinion. The old commonwealth immigrants were different than this mass migration thank you.
Some may well be as blinkered and ignorant as you seem to aspire to be but that only means we have a challenge to meet. With them and, very regrettably, with you too.

How you reach that conclusion beats me, but as your reasoning is often opaque it’s not so unusual. I have no idea how Londoners feel about my “pronouncements” as I doubt more than a tiny handful have ever read one. I have read some opinions from some in the little echo chamber here but they can be dismissed as completely unrepresentative.

As I don’t know anyone at all who is seeking Cornish independence I have no answer to your question. I know a few who want more autonomy and for more decisions to be taken locally. Some even wanting Cornwall to enjoy the same status as Wales or Scotland but independence, no.
Or the opinions of those with personal experience are more valid than those based on wishful thinking.
As far as independence goes maybe you have your own echo chamber.

Diversity.....kinda maybe but it's put on quite a bit.

More like whites pretending to be different from each other while doing 97 percent of all the same behaviours.

Ireland is a little different as it's an isle, but a good amount of Irish and a good amount of English/Scots/Welsh are interbred so the differences are still a bit put on.

I have genes from everywhere on these isles except Wales.....that I know of.
These constant claims about “whites” really needs to be called out. Where does that claim come from? I asked your favourite AI, Grok and their answer is below. Other AIs being even more forthright. So let’s compare it with yours!

“The idea that all white people share 97% of behaviors is not supported by any credible scientific evidence. Behavior is shaped by a complex mix of genetics, environment, culture, and individual experiences, making it highly variable even within any racial or ethnic group. Race itself is a social construct, not a precise biological category, and grouping people by race to quantify shared behaviors oversimplifies human diversity.

No study or data set has established a specific percentage like 97% for behavioral similarity within any racial group. Such a claim would require rigorous, large-scale behavioral analysis across diverse contexts, which doesn’t exist. People’s actions are influenced by countless factors—upbringing, education, socioeconomic status, and personal choices—far beyond race.”

Alternatively we could just look at what is in front of our noses.

That's quite a challenge. Since AI is apparently a reliable source here's what it says:

While many Muslims hold a deep sense of national pride, mainstream Islamic teachings generally affirm that one's faith in God (Allah) is the ultimate and most important allegiance. A Muslim's duty to God supersedes loyalty to any government or country, especially if the laws of the land contradict Islamic principles.

Of course personal experience is valid. Whether more valuable than a wider view is a matter of opinion. Being too close to anything can warp your judgement whilst looking at the bigger picture from a distance, without any emotional engagement, can provide a more balanced response. In any case all we have here is a tiny sample, dominated by those with a particular political viewpoint. It’s hardly representative of the whole of London.

Sure, all my friends broadly take the same line as me but I don’t restrict myself to them. I am here, which is hardly a repository of liberal and progressive opinion.

No one said it was easy, but it must be done. I won’t repeat all I have said about the need for reeducation and the relegation of religious belief but all you are doing is reinforcing it.

Loyalty to the country, our standards and laws ahead of anything else has to become a prerequisite for anyone living here. Alternative ideas ought not be taught and anyone who does become a criminal.

I would move to a position whereby every citizen has to affirm their principle allegiance to the Crown and the Country every time they renew their passport. Indefinite leave to remain being withdrawn and replaced with renewable 10 year visas with the same requirements if they are to be given. Anyone refusing on an ILR gets deported. Commit any offence against the state, get deported. Any citizen refusing to sign, or commits an offence against the state and who remains a dual national, gets deported. If not, jailed.

"The flag is attributed to Saint Piran, a 5th-century Cornish abbot."

I'd say that was Christian wouldn't you? How's that any different to St George, aside about 150 years. It isn't, which is what I said, it's feckin CHRISTIAN.
That’s disputed. As I said. Some think it refers to the white tin spilling from the black earth. It’s lost in time.

It's more representative than you'd like to think, perhaps some posters on here feel more able to express their opinions due to the anonymity granted by the site.
The constant dismissal of those opinions is a major factor behind both Brexit and Trump's re-election so the next time those subjects come up it might be worth reflecting on who exactly was responsible for creating the climate in which they occurred.

Yep, whenever they announce who they are it’s, ‘’I’m Mohammed and I am a Muslim.’’ Never I’m Mohammed and I’m from….

I don’t dismiss the quite obvious phenomenon of people feeling unheard and marginalised. Which exists in a number of communities and not just the one you are talking about.

It’s been a failure of politics that this has happened, that people feel disengaged and distant from decision making and is the primary reason for the growth of populism.

Populism is not though the answer. Ultimately it makes things worse, as we are witnessing in the USA.

The answer is to go back to basics and ensure engagement. I am afraid that will take generations and something I won’t witness. Whether the damage that happens before then can be managed is an open question. The roll back on the need to deal with climate change being the biggest issue. It concerns me greatly.

It's not just being unheard and marginalised. It's also constantly being told your opinion is wrong. About everything by others who don't know what they're talking about but still exude a sense of self importance and certainty. There may be a way to talk people round but why should they when they don't agree in the first place.

makes me want to reply "oh, wow, we have so much in common. I too believe in a religion with a history of nailing anybody who disrespects our belief system. Of course, my faith is older and is the one true only final answer".

anyway.......
