I see Wisbech hasn't responded to this yet, which is unusual, as he usually likes to jump on anyone with differing opinions to his, more or less straight away.

It's been 3 days.

Golden Lion, wasn't it? Stays in my mind because my dad knew the guv'nor in the 60s and he used to keep pigeons out the back. The old man used to go in for a drink and leave me to look at the pigeons. They weren't that interesting but were better than the step most pubs provided for kids' entertainment.

Penge is / was a strange & very dodgy place.
I think there was another pub only a few properties away from the golden lion?
and a few others in that road.(at the time)
