FA Cup 3rd Round Macclesfield

Positives from today - yes there are some (although scaping the barrell somewhat)

1. we don't need to worry about more games
2. We should have the 4th round weekend off
3. Hopefully, the management can see that certain fringe players just aren't good enough. Though, I think Glasner knew that already.

4. We are single-handedly keeping the old-school tradition of massive 3rd round upsets alive!
The HF banner 'Against Modern Football' really means something today.

Strange lost to Newcastle but done enough in the game to get at least a draw , was written off by most people on here when we played villa , then today it was all to do with the players of which most played in them matches , we lost not due to tactics it was the players themselves not stamping there Authority on the game and allowed them to do what they wanted , you don't need a manager to tell you that , this match is not the end of the world ,

When people poke fun at you just laugh and agree with them , for the last 13 years I've been told we are getting relegated it will be another year they get wrong so just smile it will wind them up more 👍🏻

The pitch was different no question but how can a PL not run that side into exhaustion within 70 minutes, so they are cramping up?
This whole tired thing is wearing thin. There are millions of people with harder jobs who have to work for more than 10 X as long a week as professional footballers .
And they're not professionally trained athletes in their twenties.

I know Willo! I was trying to say that Saso should have gone instead of him.
Sosa got a fair degree of the ball towards the later part of the second-half but he was out on the right and had to cut in and deliver on his favoured left foot.
Similar for the left-footed Devenny out on the right in the first half.
The issue was that in the main every delivery was met with a Macclesfield head or foot and they dominated aerially at the back.
A disgrace of a performance and result.

This does work. Being not bothered kills it stone dead. Shrug shoulders and explain it don’t pay your bills whatever happens to the team.
Then go home and punch the door 😂

it's not often I'm lost for words but blimey we were crap, dwelling on the ball, misplaced passes, zero creative link up play, instead of man of the match we should have c*nt of the match, between Sosa and Wharton for me, think Adam edged it today, was he wearing winkle pickers instead of football boots?😡😱😳💩👎

Jeff stelling was on sky sports and the game was on over his left shoulder and Hartlepool scored about 85mins and he went barmy.
Nope don’t remember that 😳😳😳
I was there , shaw went into meltdown final whistle with the ref should have had a penalty if I remember rightly , didn't give us much either

As he should be. Chucking the squad players under the bus is wrong though. Yes they payed terribly but so did everyone. Did Rodney play worse than Pino? Was Drakes-Thomas’ effort worse than Guehi and Richards today?

I’d rather he said everyone was awful, the players coming in didn’t deliver and nor did our established first teamers or me. We all need to do better.

I’d also have more sympathy if he didn’t keep picking Pino who is seeming untouchable despite being awful
No and no. On the contrary, I thought they gave a reasonable account of themselves but were let down by the senior players around them. In fact, subbing them at HT was cruel IMO, as if Glasner was saying they were to blame. Sosa and Pino should have been off at HT with Drakes-Thomas switched to the left and Rodney left in midfield.

If he’d started the first team, he’d have been slated for not rotating.
If he’d played all the kids, he’d have been slated.
The team that started should have been way too much for a 6th tier team.

Argentina number 2 keeper
England center back and central midfielder
USA center back
Ex Croatian and England full backs
Spanish midfielder
Northern Ireland utility player
£35 million pound substitute………………

We has disrespected the conference league and now the FA cup. And especially after we won it.

The players and managements attitude towards both tournaments has stunk in my opinion.

I've come to conclude that Glasner likes an easy scapegoat to cover up his own failings. Terrible team selection to start with, he could have kicked off with those he brought on at half time and the team would have had a better balance and understanding, rather than a bunch of strangers who had turned up for a kickabout.
Glasner's lost his mojo, and it's not just because one player (Munoz) is missing.
