FA Cup 3rd Round Macclesfield

Haven't you worked it out yet, i will give you a clue, OLIVER GLASNER ISNT VERY GOOD AS A MANAGER, arrogant, tactically clueless, poor judge of a player, answer, GO AND GET A BETTER MANAGER, god some of you are so slow on the uptake.
I wondered when you would chime in. Oliver Glasner is our best ever manager™ by sheer dint of actually winning something. Other than that I find him rather one dimensional tactically, and it isn't a surprise to learn that he has never stayed at any club too long - basically his plan gets found out and he doesn't have another. Never mind, we can have fun discussing who will be the next manager soon enough!

No big deal to go out of the cup. Good luck to Macclesfield . Great cup story. In truth they barely needed to break sweat to beat us. Our support players are not close to good enough. Sosa does not look a premier league player. (Nor does Pino. But have to hope he will have a Kamada -like learning curve to a better level.) Youngsters not ready. Including Canvot. Forwards didn't play as a unit. Uche made 2 good chances/strikes for himself but cant hold the ball up or play effectively with team mates. He is not an alternative to JP.
What on earth was the plan for our expensive new forward? He took up a position on the right but every time wharton, guehi, Richards, hughes n sosa got the ball they funnelled it across to the left side wtf!
Apart from that....it was one of those days where everyone underperformed. Got stuck in ok most of the time but just have no idea how to win a game when we have 60+% possession.
Even Guehi didn't play well
Any idea what he was saying to fans after game.....just apologising? Note he was only one to come over (apart from Henderson and Paddy McCarthy- acting as "minders"? ). Glasners changes at half time made zero impact.
We need 2-3 quality additions this window. Return of Munoz Saar and Kamada. Can still move up the table and progress in Conference League
And spend some money and get that new stand built
COYP!

I believe having only the two holding midfielders didn't work against their five in midfield. Think again to how many times Hughes was trying to chase players, how Wharton and Hughes couldn't link up and how poor Wharton's game was. How much Rodney had to get stuck in. They were under too much pressure. To compound it, their wide balls counteracted our three by playing in behind the wing backs. Both are obvious tactics to counter our system. As our system doesn't change, it's even more obvious. I don't need to be Pep to notice it. I don't even need to be Scott Parker or even Wayne Rooney. A kids coach would notice.

So, what stage of grief are we currently all at?

I've done acceptance, and I'll admit a little of bit of anger. Now I'm just thoroughly depressed.

Only 2 to go!
I feel less like a stage of grief and more like I’ve reverted back to the natural state of being for a Palace fan after a very unsettling 12 months of optimism and actual celebration. It’s oddly comforting being able to rely on comical disappointment again

We're set up seamlessly for De Boer with the back three.

Exactly.

I'm not angry at all though. I found it laughable.
I found their first goal made me laugh/ chuckle. I laughed at their second goal but it was more the laugh of a mad man/ sadist. It was that old laugh most Palace fans know. When you watch your own team pay tribute to "Football's Funniest Moments". When you have no option than to be somewhat entertained by our comedy value: because that's all we have.

I'm just back from the gym and currently in the anger phase.
I’m trying to avoid listening to the radio, watching the TV, answering WhatsApp messages and of course, reading the comments on this site!

To be fair, nothing is helping.

At least I can say to my grandchildren, in 2025, I was at Wembley to see Palace win the F A Cup and Community Shield.

Because…..it could be years before it happens again!

I'm watching Sex and the City with the missus. No danger there.
