I know there is a concurrence that he is not near his standard and sometimes looks without energy etc but i was quite upset yesterday with reaction he faced in the stadium. Moment he takes the ball, there is a tension from the stands and there was a moment he simply could not collect himself and did not do anything.

I am all with “he makes £100k per week and should be able to handle the pressure” but i am just questioning what fans are achieving by this.

I hope he unblocks himself in Manchester and this tension between him and fans will be only temporarily.

I agree. There's a lot of pressure on Ebz but I don't think he copes very well with it. Performing at his best, we know what an asset we have however it is his responsibility and perhaps Glasner's too, for him to get back there. Let's hope they find a resolution, which is what we all want,

Agree with a lot of posts here BTW, think NEILLO (Last Tuesday 2:42pm) summed it up quite well when it comes to comparing him and Wilf.
 
As I’ve said elsewhere it is frustrating watching him this season but even out of form he has more assists than anyone else in our squad. Maybe Eze isn’t the main problem …

We lack a creative midfielder - as energetic as Hughes and Lerma can be, neither has the ability to play that killer pass that opens up defences. It's all a matter of balance I guess.

Agree. Not a criticism of Lerma or Hughes who I think are both playing well. Some of Eze’s good moments have come when he’s found himself in a deeper position and played that pass himself, like to Mateta vs West Ham.

If you look a lot of our goals come from turning the ball over in transition and breaking quickly. Yesterday that didn’t happen and Brentford were very comfortable with us playing in front of them
 
I have written here before about my admiration for the way he plays, and also stated that his recent form has, in my view, shown a decline.

Interestingly, yesterday's match reports in both my papers appear to praise his performance describing him 'gliding past defenders' and making 'sublime passes'.

Are we just expecting too much from the lad?

None of our central midfielders add any goals either. I know that B'mouth are the same and they're much higher but their strikers/wingers are scoring much more often than ours.
 
I don’t think he has been the same player since joining England last summer. All the freedom seems to have been coached out of him.
 
I know everyone takes something different from watching the same game.

But yesterday Eze slowed two counterattacks to walking pace, much to the annoyance of everyone around me. Just so hard to understand the apparent lack of dynamism.

I’m glad it wasn’t just us who noticed that. It was so obvious wasn’t it? Rashford at United is sitting in the stand every game for his lack of effort. I think Eze needs a bit of a wake up call

No. Eze is a gifted player and has a lot more to show than his current level.
However, unlocking his blockages and getting him back to firing on all four is a challenge for him, management and everyone at Palace. If it was a simple solution it would have been sorted by now.
His best shows undoubtedly were when Olise were here, and Wharton was fit.
We all have to be patient. He will find his top form again in time. I hope.
Its well worth waiting for.
