I don't quite get the anti-Spurs sentiment with this move. They've got a brilliant manager, the best stadium in the country, Champions League football and a lot of very good young players. Can see them becoming a force in the coming years.
From his perspective, it's better to play for a club like them where he'll be used properly and won't lose his spark than a club like Chelsea (where he'll rot), United (will rot), or City (will be so regimented by the system that he'll lose his spark). Arsenal would be a better move but if they're not an option, I get why he'd fancy Spurs.
However, all that aside, as I said in an earlier post, honestly I don't give a flying f*** where he goes. He could go to Al Qaeda FC as far as I'm concerned, as much as I love him, as long as we get the money we deserve.
If they want to bid the appropriate amount in enough time to let us replace him, then they can have him. If they leave it late and do stupid incremental bids and we don't have time to get a replacement, then don't sell him and that's their fault.
In that scenario, I would hope he would blame them for f***ing around rather than us for being difficult and he would put 100% into our season instead.
