Eze to spurs?

I don't quite get the anti-Spurs sentiment with this move. They've got a brilliant manager, the best stadium in the country, Champions League football and a lot of very good young players. Can see them becoming a force in the coming years.

From his perspective, it's better to play for a club like them where he'll be used properly and won't lose his spark than a club like Chelsea (where he'll rot), United (will rot), or City (will be so regimented by the system that he'll lose his spark). Arsenal would be a better move but if they're not an option, I get why he'd fancy Spurs.

However, all that aside, as I said in an earlier post, honestly I don't give a flying f*** where he goes. He could go to Al Qaeda FC as far as I'm concerned, as much as I love him, as long as we get the money we deserve.

If they want to bid the appropriate amount in enough time to let us replace him, then they can have him. If they leave it late and do stupid incremental bids and we don't have time to get a replacement, then don't sell him and that's their fault.

In that scenario, I would hope he would blame them for f***ing around rather than us for being difficult and he would put 100% into our season instead.
Not necessarily. If their tactics don't work this time they've only got to wait for the next window to have another go.

Could the willingness to accept a lower offer + addons instead of 68M because we are attempting to minimalise the QPR Sell on figure? just throwing it out there.....

good post.
With Son gone, he can play in that left sided position and drift in on his right foot. An ideal position for him. Alternatively he is a great No 10 playing just behind the main striker with minimal defensive duties. Both positions are available at Spurs.

At Arsenal i'm struggling to see where he would fit in as their wide players usually keep wide and they don't play a standard No 10.

Clearly, i'd rather keep him, but life moves on

Im stuck in two minds, I do think Eze deserves his move, it would be a shame if he missed out like zaha and ended up having to play in turkey in his 30s just to play champions league.

On the other hand, I'll be devastated to see him leave this year, we know he's not a complete player but what he's good at, he's exceptional. The last 6 months, the goal against villa, winning goal in a cup final, he just seems so assured and confident. He walks around the pitch like he owns it and I think he genuinely believes he's the best player on there, regardless of who's playing. I feel this season he's in his prime and will hit his peak. If he stays, I honestly think he could have the best season a Palace player has ever had in the top flight.

But like Brighton and Brentford have shown, losing your best players can be a springboard to improve the whole squad and see you still improve as a club. If he goes, it's not the end of the world.

Will someone to explain to me how he has a release clause for £68m, it expires, and we then sell him for less than that. The price being banded about is 55m+5m

Doesn't make sense.
Because thats what Spuds WANT to pay therefore they are leaking bullsh#t to the click baiters and the hacks trying to put pressure on Palace to be a sensible little club, dont be greedy and do as you're told.
I've heard Palace want £70m and wont budge on that.
Guess we'll see

No one wanted to pay the release clause. Potential buyers think Palace need to sell. They offer a lower price. Seems pretty logical to me
Except Palace dont need the money unless Eze leaves. If he stays we only probably need 2 more players and its possible they might be loans, frees or cheapies like Sosa

It indicates there were no takers at the price in the release clause.
After that the price is only going down unless the player has a long term contract.
A bit like pricing your house too high.
If you want to sell(and it seems to me that Palace are not averse to the idea) flexibility is needed.
I don’t know why, but it seems apparent that we need to raise funds and we don’t want to be in a similar position with Eze next summer that we’ve encountered with Guehi this summer.
Rubbish. The price only goes down if Palace are desperate to sell. We're not. In view of that its what Palace say it is or he stays put and contributes to another (hopefully) memorable season in red n blue colours

Based on Eze's goodbye to the Palace fans at Stamford Bridge, to me it looks like he's almost certainly going this week.
Eze comes over and claps the fans often after a game. Why are people trying to read more into it that it just being a 'cheers for travelling over to Chelsea, cheers for your support, see you Thursday'?
