Eze to spurs?

I hope you're right. But I reckon Palace could do literally anything to f*** up. Surely you've been a fan long enough to know that?
Haha, at least this time we’re dragging out our time up there with the big boys a few years longer and we’ve got a couple of trophies to show for it before it all goes tits up 🤣

Unless there is something not known Palace have no need to sell Eze, let alone at a bargain price, Levy , doesn’t like to break the bank, so it’s probably all talk.
I've been thinking about this over the last few days. The difference in sabre rattling from the chairman compared to when Newcastle were after Guehi last season is very noticeable.

I was surprised at him virtually touting Eze for a transfer in the final stages of last season during interviews.

I know Parish came out a week or so ago and stated he wants EE and MG to stay, but any other statement would drive the price down of the players. So could it be that the club were always planning to cash in on at least one player this summer? MG now entering into his last year without looking like he is going to sign an extension now makes Eze the outstanding candidate to be that one player.

It would explain:

1. The difference in rhetoric.
2. The willingness (if speculation is accurate) that we would accept a fee below the release clause.
3. EE's emotional reaction after the Chelsea game - maybe he is being asked to make a move to a club he's 50/50 on in a not dissimilar way to Joachim Andersen.

Winning the FA Cup, getting into Europe and wanting to keep the team together have somewhat changed the landscape in just a couple of weeks. But maybe they are implementing a longer term plan.

Likely nothing, but just a thought.

That is th complete opposite of what he said viz.
“We’d have to do that, of course. For players of that calibre to leave on a free, it’s a problem for us unfortunately”
I'm not sure why he said that, but it does not seem to have drawn any other suitors to the table for Guehi - or Eze for that matter. We seem to be hoping that Liverpool's defensive frailties force them into buying now rather than next summer - though they have bought a young CD since - and that Spurs, having missed out on MGW and with long-term injuries - get pressured to buy as they are playing in the Champions League. It might have helped if United had actually beaten Arsenal. Amad's skinning of Madueke confirmed that the price they paid for the latter was well over the odds

There are times he should keep his mouth shut, but he does like being in the spotlight and the attention that follows.

Clinton Morrison on SSN... Parish will not be bullied into selling. If either or both go it will be on Palaces terms. However Parish did say to Clinton that we likely need to sell to be able to bring people in.

Come on Billionaire owners... stick some money in the kitty and keep the dream alive.

I dunno, the guy made his millions by working the room, he knows what he's doing. I don't. So even when he says something thT seems daft I sit back and see how it pans out.

I think sometimes it’s worth losing over 14 months than to be bullied by people like Daniel Levy. Competitors knowing your strength will be worth more than the money lost over the 14 months. Our owners are very smart. They know these principles.

We don't need to buy to bring players in, Arsenal, Chelsea,Liverpool etc, can only put forward 25 players forward, the others are loaned, surely we can pick up a couple in England and a couple in Europe, they don't need to be world beaters, just decent back up players.

Yeah I think maybe here and there it might look like there a chunk in his armour that people like Levy can exploit, but when it comes down to it he’ll just swat Levy away. What also helps is Eze isn’t a sulker and is of good character. Parish will know this and think all this stuff through before. Most of our players are of good character. We research this before buying all our players now.

If only it was as easy as shoving a few million in the kitty. Sadly PSR has scuppered that option much to Newcastle, Villa, Everton and other potential big sides chagrin. Unless you cheat the rules like Man City. Being a sensible run club Palace stick to the rules so can only spend what they get in income.

Is it? In isolation, maybe. He is giving mixed messages -

A way to do it is a company loans the club money over a long period. That's how directors/owners put money in, more or less. I think there's only a certain amount of cash they can directly inject. Off the top of my head, 15 mil or something. So we'd have say a 50 mil loan over 40 years. That kind of thing. I know we had a lot at some stage. I remember seeing something like 70 mil in loans to be repaid. Some over thirty years etc. so that could have added up considerably over the years.
If I am remembering at all correctly, I think they said a fair chunk of recent transfers paid back some loans. Olise I think.

Will someone to explain to me how he has a release clause for £68m, it expires, and we then sell him for less than that. The price being banded about is 55m+5m

Doesn't make sense.

Romano is bigging this up on Twitter. But, with two years on his contract, I'd be very surprised if Palace sold him for £55m + add-ons. As OG said yesterday, don't believe everything you read. Also, Romano's stock has slumped this window in terms of accuracy.

He's turned full t*** to me. I wonder if he's been cut off from his inside source and now scrambles around like the general bullshitters do. Is he actually predicting anything correctly this season?

But clubs don’t want to loan players to be back up for some other team. They loan them to where they are guaranteed to get a run of games so that they come back ‘improved’ and better for the experience. Maybe a loan with a serious deal to buy later might work.

No one wanted to pay the release clause. Potential buyers think Palace need to sell. They offer a lower price. Seems pretty logical to me
