Eze to spurs?

That's the name of the game though - the club should never have exposed itself to the risk that key players might leave days before the season starts with no replacements in sight or cover in the squad.

We should have signed the Guehi/Eze replacements weeks ago.

Never know, might have some replacements lined up!

I'd hate for him to go there, but I think Eze would do better at Spurs than Arsenal as he'd probably get more freedom to play his own game. The main questions are do Spurs have the money to pay at least somewhere close to his release clause and does Eze have a desire to go there. They are a bigger club than us and have CL football, but at his age this is possibly his last chance of signing for a top club. Spurs aren't really that any more. As I said weeks ago, if Spurs have an offer accepted and no one else comes in for him then I think he'd go. So far, Palace haven't shown the ability or inclination to invest in building on our recent success, and that seeming lack of ambition may cost us.

As always, I like to end by saying, don't leave us Eze!
Very good post. I too hope he stays.

Just read the latest story about Spurs & Ebs claiming the clause is still active till Friday 15th Aug' ? If true why leave ourselves open to be left with so little time to find a replacement. So much BS in the press it's impossible to figure out which stories have 'legs'

Funny how all this bullshit has increased since the Europa decision went against us,all just clickbait bollocks, not that long ago they were saying he has no interest in going to Spurs,he will win bigger all at those muppets.

I'm being more of a realist. I think if someone offered close to the release clause, Parish would take it. He's shown he won't roll over, though, so unless there are some financial issues we don't know about, he's not going to sell players on the cheap. I don't want Eze to go, but £60 million+ is about right if he's privately expressed a desire to move. I don't agree with handcuffing players if we get a fair offer and they want to leave.

P.s. don't go Eze!
Fair enough. But I f***ing hate that these clubs come circling when we have built a real team that could go places. It feels like the big boys way of keeping the likes of Palace down. Oh well like I keep saying... we won the FA cup... a magical day that not fucker can take away from us.

He wants what Olise wants, but wont get it, Spurs are a complete mess, Its like Wilf going to Galatasaray, for his two rounds, in the Champions League, Spurs will not finish in the top 10, Yes, Arsenal, Liverpool abroad but not Spurs, if he does, and i dont think he will, its purely money, not very Chistian
Philippians 2:3-4
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others
Blimey Lanzo, steady on old chap, next thing you'll be suggesting we all start reading the bible.

And then we come circling and pick off the best young players in the championship who other clubs have been working hard to develop.

That’s just the nature of the beast - it doesn’t mean we are trying to keep anyone down, it means there’s a player available who we think can improve our team, much the same way Spurs will think Eze improves their team.

The release clause just means other clubs are allowed to talk to him . Thats a long way from him agreeing to move to them .Eze still has a couple maybe 3 years on his contract ,he may be just fishing for better terms for all we know
I cant believe the club doesn't talk to the players regularly with regard to where they are with their contracts and their possible intentions . And with that in mind have options and players in mind as possible replacements .
I just hope Dougie left his files behind

Brighton seem to lose their best players every year, have had to deal with managers leaving and seem to improve every season. If we use the money correctly and strengthen the whole squad, we could end up better off, id hate to lose eze, but we still only managed 12th last season. Its not like he's single handedly good enough to get us top 8

stop being so logical and let me wallow in my misery please

By the way... as bad as we might feel if we lose a couple, spare a thought for Bournemouth, have they even got a starting 11 left. They have been picked to pieces.

If they keep going like last year then it will restore my faith in the world of football because that means they and dear lord the 'Weed' can do it then in means we can too.

Indeed, but shows how they were decent last year. Sold 3 defenders PSG, Madrid and Liverpool. Pretty good scouting that was.

We should have signed the Guehi/Eze replacements weeks ago.
Judging by Steve Parish's comments after the Shield we simply have no money right now and were relying in the Guehi and/or Eze money to hand to Glasner to spend. This is why there he only been a tiny amount spent so far. He indicated all our current transfer money is being swallowed up in instalments on players that we signed last year or the year before.
Say, even if our billionaire directors said ok, we'll lend the club £90m/£100m so we can get our business done and then just pay us back when Guehi and Eze are sold. What if no one offers close to what they are worth? What if one of them breaks their leg in training? They just dont want to take that risk and if I try and put myself in their shoes I wouldn't be comfortable with that either.
Plus signing replacements before you have moved players on leaves you in a weak position. Buying clubs are not stupid. They will get wind that you need to sell and suddenly they start offering way below market value thinking/hoping you'll be desperate to sell.

Or you can sell first and get held to ransom. I personally think you’re wrong.
