That's what's being reported in the press, i would be very surprised if Palace went anywhere near that figure but that doesn't mean we can't get the player in question for less than £45m.

That then becomes something we can do.

How about not only the cost of buying in the new player, but then potentially, if the sale of the player they are meant to replace doesn't happen, being lumbered with two sets of very high wages on the bill for the length of whatever their respective contracts are.

A point I’ve been consistently raising on here !

And then the “ replacement “ potentially ends up squad player which would not be what he signed up for

I meant if we sell a big player, then buy a replacement, we can get held to ransom and have to pay more because everyone knows we’ve sold one or two players for £50-70 mil each.

While thats true Palace (quite rightly) always move on if the goalposts move. If for example we Identify Player A and believe we'll get him for £14m and the selling club suddenly bump the price because they know we have money to spend we move on to player B

If the release clause is still open then whoever meets it, we have to accept, but not a penny less, if the release clause has expired, NOT FOR SALE, doesn't matter what Eze wants, he is only 28 next Summer, and of cause we will have won more Silverware, Conference league 🙂, who knows if his release clause carry's on to next summer or is it over
