Everton Predictions.

With no new injuries and returning players it will be interesting to see the side selected.
Mitchell or Chilwell, Lerma or Wharton, who drops from the bench?

I think Lerma and Mitchell will be retained, the former because of Everton’s physical threat and Mitchell because Chilwell is not yet ready to start.

It will be good to have a strong bench for a change.

Yeah I don't think he can or will start him straight away as he'll need time to get match fit. Does make you wonder a bit about why we've loaned him when there's only 14 league games left of the season but never mind.

Good cover straight away.
Two more games coming on as sub and he should be match fit.
Considering who it is, pretty good price. (more or less £1m)
We already saw at Doncaster the difference between a Left Back and a Left Wing Back.
So Glasner is now spoilt for choice in that position. How refreshing.

Someone told me today if we win tomorrow we will have accumulated more points after 25 games in the top flight in Crystal Palace's history!
After the start we had this would be an incredible turnaround from OG

Just watching the press conference back reminded me that OG will have been in charge for 1 year after this game. Of his 37 PL games so far:
W: 14
D: 12
L: 11
Pts: 54

Oh, Let's go 2-0 Palace tomorrow, why not?

Granted thats 37 games, and not 1 season. But assuming it was a season its our highest ever points total?

Might need a fact check, but CBA

No I didn't bother to fact check either and completely take the point that it isn't a whole season.

The end of the 23/24 season could be argued to have set OG back due to the Summer transfer ins and outs...
... I just think he's doing a good job and was pleasantly surprised when I saw these numbers this pm.

To think that a couple of months ago people wanted him gone. Even after the Brentford defeat.
Laughable.

It really is. Even during that bad run it was clear that the team wasn't far from clicking.

Sarr, Eze, Nketiah all back fit. Wharton ready to start.

Will certainly be our best attacking bench of the season tomorrow.

Obvs it would be good to finish as high up the table as possible (Especially with the financial incentive of £M per league place) but as far as relegation is concerned I struggle to see anyone in the bottom 4 places achieving more than 30 / 33 points total.
I agree. In fact it wouldn’t surprise me if all 3 relegated teams have less than 30 points this season.

My main worry is how we break them down, beyond just having Wharton on the pitch. As good as we are in transition we've not seen much this season to say we can create against low blocks and it usually comes down to whatever Eze can pull from his arse rather than clever moves around the box or consistently quality crosses from the wing backs. Everton are terrible when pressed at the back but how often are they going to try and beat our press rather than going long to Beto?

Sarr passes through the Everton defensive line to Danny Munoz who sprints to the bye line & pulls it back to JP on the 6 yard box to smash it past Pickford into the roof of the net.

Would prefer it if he just smashes Pickford into the roof of the net & just let the ball trickle over the line with Tarwkoski trying very hard to clear but doing a 'scissors' on the near post, yup, that'll do it. 😉

There was an article yesterday where OG was praising Hughes for his passing ability and saying he can't understand why we haven't seen much of it before. If he can add in a few like his ball v Doncaster he'll be even more of an asset and open up other routes to goal, especially with Sarr's pace.
Mind you he also praised a certain Japanese player for his ability as a holding/defensive midfielder so maybe he'd been on the beer.

Plus we will have plenty of two games weeks if we go deep into the fa cup. Need to rotate at times

Please can we just have a home win. Any margin of victory will do.

I missed the Spurs game so, to date, I have only witnessed one win all season, that being a scrappy 3 points against Southampton.

Shearer is rarely right about anything, but let's hope he's right this time.
Everton weakened by injuries, suspension plus their massive effort to nick a draw on Wednesday.
So far Glasner has fixed how to win away, but not at home. Maybe today is the day!
