I honestly think we were very unlucky in front of goal today. Well a mixture of good keeping and that. If we had the run of the turf we could easily have been 3-1 up at half time.
Second half our defence managed the game very well to protect our lead.

And only 4 behind Spurs. These are two teams I would love to finish higher than this season and there is no reason why not if we buy sensibly in the upcoming window. We do need bodies however.

Agreed. After 8 games we were on 3 points so that’s 17 points from the last 11. We will end up a lot higher.

The only (and yet massive) positive from today was the 3 points.
Southampton were one of the poorest teams I've seen at Selhurst in recent times, and yet me made hard work of it.
I recognise we can't always play well, but there was lots of sloppy passing today even when not under pressure from the opponent.
We will need to sharpen up our act v Chelsea.
The good news is that we've hit 20 points after a daunting run of recent fixtures.
I think many of us thought a few weeks ago that we'd do well to get 16 points at this stage.
