Crystal Palace vs. Ipswich match thread

Looked a fairly scrappy game from what I could see on the dubious stream I found. Sarr took his goal exceptionally well, shortly after clearing off the line to prevent an Ipswich goal. Loved his goal celebration in tribute to JP.

Anyhoo, another 3 points leaves us in a comfortable position so what's not to like.

A poor game which Ipswich had slightly the better of.
Henderson made a handful of very good saves while we struggled to create much with sloppy passing and failure to build moves.
We sorely missed Hughes control of the midfield and JPM's presence down the middle.
I thought it had 0-0 written all over it so was delighted by Sarr's well taken goal to win it for us.
We had a much higher xG

Looks like it could be a dull end to the season. Liverpool are going to romp it and the relegation is basically perm 3 from 4.

The upside is there could be some easy points up for grabs if teams are in their flip flops early. Provided we stay concentrated I reckon we could get our highest PL points total.

Must be a sign of the times - often enough we'd have been well pleased with three points but now we want the performance to be more impressive while getting them.
This isn't a criticism; more an indication of the progress we're making.

We have to finish above those shitbags, yet it seems that everything has fallen their way pretty much all season.

Apparently the penalty was awarded over 20 seconds past the extra time amount, pgmol on a love in with the c****.
Dunno why you're wasting your energy on the Weed. It's good to beat them, but beating Scouse teams, Manchester teams, Chelsea, and Villa gives me a bigger buzz.

I'm not interested in xG.
I rely on my own eyes.

Nketiah and Munoz both missed one on ones and their keeper made a couple of scrambling saves from deflected shots .
Otherwise he was untroubled.
Henderson made at least 4 very good saves and Sarr (I think) cleared off our line.
We didn't play well but fortunately Sarr's late goal was enough to claim the points.

Those f***ing c**** only managed to f***ing score at the death.

It's the ultimate season of luck for them. I f***ing hate them

A f***ing penalty as well, you can just imagine how ridiculous a call it's going to be from those diving wankers. How many have they been given this season now? about 7? We've had 1 and it was stonewall, plus a fair few shouts denied 😡
Positive - Fulham more catchable

You know, I'm beginning to think we won't go down this season.

Rubbish game and we could have lost it so did well to smash and grab. I quite like Ipswich though and hope they somehow stay up.

We are currently only eight points behind City in fourth place and four points behind Bournemouth in eighth.

While I'm not suggesting we'll finish fourth, I do think the top eight is becoming very realistic given our form. Look at the screenshot below of the last ten games across the big five leagues in Europe, this form is outrageous.

Southampton up next as well which is also very winnable. What a time to be alive!

Just seen the "penalty" that the weeds were awarded. Pedro toe pokes it away and uses that leading foot to launch himself into the air, whilst screaming. He hasn't been obstructed or touched, it should be a booking for diving and a goal kick in fact. But the ref is Sam Barret, the same ref who blew up to disallow Eze's goal vs Brentford at the start of the season. Craig Pawson is on VAR, another of the leagues worst refs when it comes to serious decisions (he's the one on VAR who poured over that "penalty" that Jota was given against us when he clouted Giata).

At this point Pedro hasn't had contact with either player but it preparing to launch himself by dragging his trailing foot as if he's been impeded, before springing off that front foot into the air. You can see that Pedro's foot it behind the player trying to clear it and Pedro#s foot is already positioned to be dragged.

You can see here that nobody has touched the slit throat diving cheat. How the f*** did VAR not overturn this - pisstakers

Managed to hold his ankle first, then his face. I don't know what dirt this wanker has on PGMOL but it must be significant' having avoided any kind of action for his violent elbow he swung then the clattering of the Ipswich keeper.

You should have cropped that table at 13 teams Canterbury.

Might be too much for Spindle this evening! 🤣

Munoz and Ntekiah need to study Sarr's calm dinked finish - instead of shooting straight at the keeper just lift it over him, it's a particularly effective skill in one on one situations against an onrushing keeper already going down for the block, and can be practised on the training ground for free.
