CPFC v Man City Match Thread

Who wouldn’t have taken that point before kick off? We competed well with the Champions and scored 2 goals! Admittedly both goals were scored by defenders but it’s a measure of our attacking intent. Not only that but we scored from a corner ffs! Hens teeth as far as we’re concerned. We could take issue with the mistakes contributing to their goals but I suspect that’s true if most goals. Pep probably feels the same about our goals.
If we’re last on MotD tonight I’m cancelling my TV license.

At least the Merseyside derby won't be any earlier than ours. 😉
 
harland s goal just bounced of the top of his head he had no idea where it was going they were lucky to get a point, brighton next ,up the palace

After his first yellow he jogged passed the ref and called him a fvcking vvanker and spat next to the ref im suprised he didn't go for that , id say the ref was just waiting for a chance to book him again after that .
 
If you’d have offered me four points from the last two games at the start of this week I’d have bitten your hand off. Played well today. Not intimidated at all and could easily have won.
 
Good performance and result....and yet there's a nagging feeling about the goals conceded.

Neither Guehi nor Henderson did well enough on the soft Haaland goal and the central defenders got suckered in to allow Lewis a free run to score the equaliser.

Perhaps this assessment may seem harsh in the light of the overall performance, but the foundation of any good team has to be a mean defence.

Probably the difference between playing City and playing Ipswich. All in all a pretty good week. And I can start looking at the league table again.
 
Special mention to Hughes and Lerma today. Both worked there socks off and looked really solid. Going to be hard to drop one of them for Wharton but lovely problem to have soon.

Team is starting to look just that now, a team. It’s taken time but signs of balance and fitness coming back.
