Burnley thread

Our passing stats are poor. We were also clearly overrun in midfield. Which game were you watching? La Liga or something? What is it you can't handle? That we didn't play well?
Tell me how we played well if you want a debate. Tell me what part of our play was good. Perhaps you think that performance would beat other teams - tell me why it would. If you want a debate I'll give you one. Add something to it. Want to criticise my points fine but you're adding f*** all.
We were better in other games - not our last couple. It's not that hard a concept. If we continue at this standard what will we win?
It's also hardly beyond the stretches of imagination that other teams might notice how we play and overload midfield. You haven't noticed it maybe but plenty have. It's not the first time it's been said, nor will it be the last.
Never once have I said we played well last night but still was class enough to win a poor game with one good pass , what games was you watching saying we was poor in last two , Sunday lge , 2nd half we let teams in , couldn't you see the ball wasn't skipping on the pitch last night you never get good games on pitchs like that ,
you telling me it took 30 plus games to try and work out flood the midfield , hence our defenders can pass which means there pushing them back how come we have only lost 3 lge games ,
you are the one not watching , I love a good argument , did you pay for a 5 minute argument or 10 🥰

The one player the opposition needs to keep an eye on and nullify where possible is Munoz. A lot goes through him. I'd go as far to say that Glasner's system is dependent on Munoz getting up and down. Burnley failed.

It's just the other way round, it's not "Glasner's system", but their style of play has been adapted with respect to the particular types of players they have. And yes, having wing backs like Munoz or Mitchell is an essential prerequisite for their style of play.

You are right in many ways. Our defenders are our top passers in our stats. We do create chances but we've been pretty sloppy recently. We've suddenly regressed on set pieces too. Less said about our finishing.
At least we didn't concede any awful goals although the one off the underside of the bar gave me a heart attack.
But I was as happy as anyone else to play rubbish and get three points. Burnley were plucky enough, a bit naive I thought. They should have done more. Poor decision making. We know that feeling.
Doesn't change we were very poor though. Plucky, making challenges at the last minute perhaps. Clearly, we didn't give up. Technically we were terrible. I wasn't at the game so only saw on TV. Noticed slipping and figured they'd watered it too much or it hadn't drained enough. I bet Pino doesn't use long studs.
I expect that in the dressing room Glasner congratulated the team on effort. But he would have said there is plenty of work to do.
At least travelling fans got a goal and a win. Believe you me. I'll take that. Still doesn't hide how we don't seem to be playing that well currently. I hope we improve, just saying it as I see it. I think you seem to think I revel in despair.

twelve points and nineteen goals better than relegation placed West Ham, reasons to be cheerful! 😆 👍 😆 👍 😆
It seems odd quoting your own post but West Ham are making a cods of it tonight add a goal on to the above tally.

Using basic % stats to make any point is... pointless. Our back 3 could pass it between themselves all game, and have 100% completion rate. We'd get 38 points and be last on MOTD every week

OGS was one of those players who could spend most of his time on the bench and still be sharp and capable of scoring the winner when he did come on. Unfortunately that isn’t true of Nketiah from what we’ve seen recently. Whether it’s true of Uche or Esse is impossible to tell since they’re never allowed near the pitch. Uche will be sent packing in January but Esse must be praying Glasner leaves for pastures new and his successor gives him a chance to show what he can do.
romain doesnt have to worry glasner is gone at the end of the season

What a poor advertisement for the Premier League, painful and slap-dash .....
We were lucky to beat Burnley with such a lack-lustre, lower division performance.

Our defence was good, as usual but our midfield is painful. Continuous one-touch passing at pace is producing very little.

Wharton is our king-pin in midfield but he rarely holds the ball. He needs, and has the ability, to bring the ball forward before passing and should copy Guehi who is the only one confident to do it.

Can someone please tell me what Kamada's role is in our midfield? True, he occasionally produces a decent pass but more often either gives it away or throws his arms up in despair. Speaks wonders for our lack of squad depth when he gets the nod from Glasner. Tiredness now seems obvious and does not bode well for the rest of this month.

I fear Fulham will get the better of us on Sunday.

That would be a shame,Fulham has been a happy hunting ground in recent years for Palace.

I get the feeling Ollie thinks we wont win by rotating and bringing in the untested players but he is surely going to have to or we will not win anyway because the players will be on there arse.

I fully realise. I believe we're bottom of the league in passing completion percentage. I also think we can see it on the pitch. Let's put it this way. I didn't look it up until the last few matches. But it's quite glaring currently.
