Brighton vs. Crystal Palace match thread

It was good of Brighton to let all their fans out midway through the second half. That way , Palace fans could celebrate on the final whistle , before making a speedy unimpeded departure, and not be held in the stadium for 40 minutes before being herded on the wrong train.
Well done Brighton and their police. 😀

And well done Palace 😀 👍

Back when I criticised him he looked weak and was nowhere near the quality of Sam Johnston. Many others agreed at the time. I am very VERY happy to getting proved wrong. However this forum is for discussions and for joy and on more occasions than I care to remember moan and criticise.

I don’t think it’s ‘foolish’ to have done so back when he didn’t look very good and was a fraction of the keeper he appears to be now.

As for Glasner knowing more than me. I should bloody well hope so.

I bet he can’t develop property as well as me though 🤣
Has he been telling how to develop property better, again🙂

So, Kamada can’t tackle, doesn’t sprint, doesn’t read the game particularly well, so Glasner brings him in when we are under the cosh when he has two combative midfielders in Doucoure and Devenny on the bench.

I’m lost for words. He must have some photos of OG.
I think as we were three up at the time he thought it was a good time to give him some pitch time, give the lad a chance!

We have been threatening a result like this and we deserved it today. Sarr was great. Eze worked hard before his departure and Hughes was good as usual. A very good team performance.

If we keep free of injuries we will be fine, although we still look very thin on the ground squad wise.
A couple of signings seem essential in January.

Actually we were 2-0 up and struggling hence why most couldn’t understand why you wouldn’t bring Devenny or Doucoure on.

As for chances he had played most of the season until he got sent off. How many chances do you think he needs?

I think we should play in our third (black) strip more often.
Didn't realise how smart it is, better than the drab yellow, and it now has a hundred per-cent record!
Not a brilliant performance but we are showing improving signs and when Wharton is back, fully fit, Mateta and Sarr will be having more chances.

Overall a happy occasion.

My main take outs
- Munoz and Mitchell had possibly their best games of the season
- the back 3 continue to look solid
- the subs, when Mateta and Eze were tiring ,worked well.
In contrast with others, I thought Nketiah looked very bright. Yes, he missed the chance , but be looked sharp and Brighton's defence looked uncomfortable against him
- I'm greedy, but 4-1 would have looked better. I could see nothing wrong with the Munoz goal and we had a few other presentable opportunities
- More plaudits for Hughes and Lerma.
A lot of demands are placed on central midfielders in Glasner's system.

Agree 100%

Nketiah looked decent, and if he'd have finished his chance, everyone would be buzzing about him.

Not entirely sure why most are slagging Kamada off. The subs worked really well.

Going to praise all of our players today for a cracking team performance and a superb win and 3 points.

Standout performances from Henderson, Lacroix, Hughes & Sarr. Munoz and Sarr starting to have some good link up play down the right.

The substitutions worked well at a time when we were struggling in midfield and were being put under considerable pressure. I thought both Kamada and Nketiah did well and I want them both to succeed for us. It is still early days for them so let’s get behind them both and see what we can inspire them to do for us.

Great support today. Lovely to see the team at the end enjoying the plaudits. Chalobah, Lacroix, Mateta, Sarr & Hendo all getting well into it! Brilliant to see and helps us build that Palace spirit that we are renowned for.

COYP!

Excellent summary, but I would pick out Lacroix as my MoM. Nketiah may well come good once he gets a goal or two.
