Agreed. We should just about get away with it this season in the Conference League. But if we are in the Europa it could be a very tough year with Mateta and Kamada, at a minimum, leaving. I'd be hoping Ipswich reprise their previous ability in the PL and that Southampton do not win the playoffsWell played Bournemouth. Can we have your manager please? Whatever happens at Villa tonight, the Arses will beat Wet Spam next week and we will be safe. Next season we will play a different system and hopefully play to JSL’s strengths more with a different midfield. Johnson needs to get a grip or be sold in the summer.
If we win the Conference League we will need to have a deeper squad to compete in The Europa League and survive in the PL.

In general I agree - water will find its level and this is ours. When it looked like we had the makings of a very decent side the best players were quickly snapped up, it's the way the game operates in this league and it is a question of how one spends whatever one makes from those sales. In our case we have spent unwisely, overloaded with mediocre forward players who have yet to show they are worth the money that was spent. We'll do well to hold onto our decent players for another campaign. A lot depends on who the next manager is.This season has been overall really poor, it seems we have gone backwards in terms of our EPL progression with teams like Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth all showing better development than ourselves. The transfer dealings have been very poor and we have a very weak and unblanced squad of player some of who would struggle in the championship to hold down a first team spot. We lack leadership from the top down and this summer we are losing the team Manager and possible more of our key players. We also have a very poor understanding of the transfer market and in recent times have wasted shed loads of cash on very poor decision making and just do not seem to be able to deal in the transfer market like other clubs around us. As a consequence this has left us in a very vulnerable position and even if we do survive this year, then next year may well the season where our luck runs out.

If we had to sell him today, what offers would we get.? 10?....£12m?Brennan Johnson, in terms of money spent has to surely go down as the worst signing ever?
Terrible footballer who offers absolutely nothing whatsoever.

He could have told us before the game and saved us the trouble of watching it.Honest from OG, but, begs the Q?, why? . . .
Padavano was our worst signing ever, nobody else comes anywhere near close.I was talking in terms of Crystal Palace history...

Nobody cares where you finish in the league, as long as you aren't relegated, it's forgotten. If you win a European trophy it's remembered forever.Another season of finishing behind those giants,
Bournemouth
Brighton
Everton
Fulham
Newcastle
And most probably Leeds now, as well as dropping so many home points against the likes of Leeds, West Ham, Burnley, Fulham, Spurs, Brighton etc.
The European thing is only memorable if we win it, otherwise it’s a load of extra affecting league form.
The club seems just quite happy just to stay up, encapsulated by that irritating song from ‘England’s number one’ ??🫣😂.
That’s a real shame, given the fact we have been in this league 13 years off & particularly with the players available over the last 2.

I think you're forgetting that Padavano actually contributed something... He scored a goal... And he only cost us £1.7mPadavano was our worst signing ever, nobody else comes anywhere near close.

Padavano was a case of the club signing a sick note player. Sounds familiar somehow...Padavano was our worst signing ever, nobody else comes anywhere near close.
The fee was relative to the era, no other player has ever tried to bankrupt the club as he did. For that alone, he stands alone in a different class of sh-t player.I think you're forgetting that Padavano actually contributed something... He scored a goal... And he only cost us £1.7m

Nah.. As I said Padavano actually contributed something.. Johnson is absolutely awful.. He can't take players on, he can't hold the ball up, he's not quick, he's incredibly weak, he can't shoot, he can't score and he has this amazing ability to make you forget that he's even on the pitch... Totally anonymous. The fee was relative to the era, no other player has ever tried to bankrupt the club as he did. For that alone, he stands alone in a different class of sh-t player.
