Bournemouth vs. Crystal Palace match thread

Today is simply one team with something to play for vs one team who think they don't

The first especially, we were playing like a pre-season friendly. Just got to hope Villa do us a favour tonight.
But that isn’t an acceptable mindset from us. I could understand it if we are confirmed safe but we aren’t. If the manager is letting that sort of complacency set it he isn’t doing his job

I never excused it or said it was a good thing. Just an observation and comparison to Thursday's performance.

They must be absolutely knackered though.

Thing is if we win the Conference League then Glasner will be, rightly applauded and sent on his way after producing 3 trophies in two seasons.

The bizarre reality though, is that we have been really quite poor since the end of October, including our Conference League form, apart from our last 3 games in that competition. The performance against Macclesfield was unforgivable.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that winning the Conference League or even just getting to the Final is Glasners get out of jail free card which will glaze over what has, ultimately, been a poor season.

It’s been a poor season. We regressed a long way and the football has been really bad since November. For the most part our attacking play has been woeful and we’ve been found out tactically. Now looks like our most likely finishing position will be 16th and that will be a relief.

Abysmal. Can’t remember a game where I even thought a goal by us was possible. Utterly terrible, even with next Thursday’s big game coming up. Let’s hope that performance doesn’t go onto Thursday and that Spam and Spuds don’t get the unthinkable wins required. Best I don’t single out players but one substituted at half time and another who played 90 minutes cost us 55 million between them and are truly awful :-(

No injuries to main players is the only plus , but everyone of our players couldn't pass 80% of the time some higher , Thursday will be different , hard to believe we out played Liverpool last lge game

A very human performance today...

... an away game after an away European game always a tough assignment...

... i think if we had lost at Shaktar we would only be focused on today's game.

Premier League margins are so fine these days, all you need is one thing out of balance to get thumped. I actually really rate Bournemouth. One of the best away sides I've seen at Selhurst this season.

On the plus side:
This should eliminate any complacency from Thursday.
The game will give Shaktar little to go on.

Yes indeed. Truth is we look like a team that has sold its best players and not invested that money in replacements wisely. My feeling is we'll struggle next season if they are not on the ball from the off.

We were terrible.
Perhaps our worst league performance of the season.

But Bournemouth are a decent team with a long unbeaten run.
Full of enterprise with two attacking full backs and lots of verve in the forward areas.
Iraola continues to impress and I hope the rumours of him as a future Palace manager are not unfounded.

We don't have a big / decent enough squad to compete on all fronts .
If he had played full 1st team and picked up injuries , everyone would be up in arms .
We all knew he would make a lot of changes .
Thursday is a distraction but it's a big one .
Even if we treated this as a must win it would have been a big ask ,Bournemouth are no mugs .
