Well, he had a nice little trip and got paid for it. I feel the contract may reach its quiet conclusion upon release from his county. It's a shame in many ways but we can't exactly say that it's worked so far.

Why take him if you're not going to play him, particularly in Adelaide?

He's a promising young bowler who's just been pushed too fast too soon.

The ECB should make sure he gets games at county level.....They have really stuffed spinners and that's criminal if you want to push for being the number one test side.

Why take him if you're not going to play him, particularly in Adelaide?

I agree, it's hardly a vote of confidence. Maybe he will gain something from the experience? Maybe he will be spurred on to make something more at first class level? I don't rate him currently but spinners tend to improve with experience. I can remember Swanny being pretty rubbish - and Tuffers. Swan was brilliant in the end. Underrated in my opinion.

No spare opener or keeper, bring a Lions team down but don't give them enough games.
