I think some of us can remember when mentally ill people were supervised in secure locations, leaving the public to go about their business in relative safety. Things have changed, self-medicating and assigned care in the community staff, can’t prevent the odd unbalanced person from carrying out an atrocity and now they have ‘a cause’ to justify their actions. The ‘voices in their head’ have been replaced by an ideology. So, what’s the answer?Maybe all mentally ill people should wear some sort of badge ( a yellow star for example) in case of arrest after a stabbing incident so they can be more easily identified. It can't be hard to discover who they are since the news comes out instantly following any event.
