Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

IMO it wasn’t ignorance it was interpretation.

The rules themselves are not fit for purpose which the club statement intimated and need changing
The problem being that CAS decided the rules had been correctly applied, whether fit for purpose or not. Which seems to me to be an abrogation of their purpose.

Whether, or not, there is a legal case for damages caused by a rule not being fit for it’s intended purpose is something for specialist lawyers but the football world, led by us and the consequences we have suffered, must now put pressure on all the football authorities to ensure things are cleaned up. The FA need to make a statement. So does the Minister for Sport and the new regulator.

So much for natural justice.

Ironically UEFA have moved Crystal Palace from a competition in which we share absolutely no ownership links with any other club to one in which we do - David Blitzen owns Brondby who are in the Conference League with us. They really are clamping down on MCOs aren’t they!!!,

As I said it’s an abrogation of their purpose. This whole saga leaves a nasty taste and a very big question mark over the way football is being regulated. I wonder if an investigative journalist will prepare a report and produce a documentary that exposes what lies behind it all.

I have spent some time reading the forums of other clubs where there is sympathy for us, alongside the usual numpties who exist everywhere. With the exception of Forest who are in total denial about the character of their owner and feel we have only Parish to blame. When I tried, politely and reasonably, to put an alternative view I got threatened in the tones of a mafia boss. Very surprising and disappointing. It seems Marinakis runs their forums too!

They will get theirs. When you run a club like that then eventually it catches up on you. He will screw up big at some point and I will be extremely sympathetic when he does 😁

Yes that was my thoughts too. How did we get around this one and not the Lyon one? Please explain someone

Straight onto the Forest forums mansplaining why it was all their fault without listening to any facts. I'll be joining you.

Right.

We qualified for the Europa. UEFA deemed that we were in MCO so demoted us to the Conference.
We appealed to CAS. Our appeal was rejected. We issued a statement today saying we were hard done by. CAS then responded saying we had every chance at the appeal to object to the CAS method of hearing appeals, we did not do so.

It is unquestionable that we have been treated unfairly and been denied our rightful Europa qualification but time to call it a day.

Can we not now accept the position, move on and try to qualify in the two legged play off to get into the main Conference League?

I sincerely hope the club doesn't get silly and sue UEFA (or the CAS) for damages. We have reached the end of the road in this saga.

Seriously? WTAF? We're expected to walk in there and accuse them of having a s*** process, BEFORE WE APPEAL? Maybe we expected them to listen to us and force UEFA into handing over the data we requested. It's dirty corruption.

Justice will be served when Notts Forest are immediately dumped out, it impacts their season in the process, and we go on to win the competition.

Clearly heartfelt, and I'm not unsympathetic despite some wild accusations being aimed at everyone but the people that actually cocked it all up for you, but I think I may have spotted your problem....

I'd have picked an email address that your club can be bothered to monitor myself. Certainly not the very one that UEFA mailed the rules to, after Palace told them to use it, and then Palace ignored it.

What would the great Brian Clough make of all of this? He'd be on the pitch punching your supporters again. It was a myth that you had any class whatsoever, Liverpool-lite.

At the end of the day we missed the deadline.

Who would have known we would win the cup at the time.

We should have just admit it all and come at a different angle with uefa.

Anyways no need to keep going on and on about it.

Welcome, fella.
So why did UEFA not allow Palace access to the communications between the relevant parties, which I assume would include your owners request to UEFA about Palace’s inclusion in the Europa League?
Why are Palace held to a 1st March date when Lyon had until 9th July?
Why did Forest not manage to hang onto their Champions League position - was it because your owner had moved aside so couldn’t influence the club?
I have nothing against Forest fans; just your owner and UEFA for what to us seems to be a bizarre case of double standards.

I didn't, until it dawned on me how little honour they have and how they've conducted themselves. There have been scant few who are embarrassed by this and shown empathy, the vast majority have from the outset engaged in schadenfraude. They've disgusted me tbh.

A club that was taken over by a very dodgy multimillionaire and began dealing in corruption to get where they are now. There's no merit in the vast overspending they undertook which resulted in a points deduction, for cheating, and frankly they were let off. But they complained and whined, they brought in the biggest arsehole egotistical referee to join their team of pro whiners, pissing out at every opportunity, and they've threatened or invoked legal action on those who cross their path, the snitching little bastards.

What have they acheived? They got promoted with a very expensive team, they overspent again, they missed out on the Europa League on merit but used nepotism and political, corrupt leverage to get into it, at the expense of a club that hasn't done any of the dirty, scrupulous and rum activities they are mired in.

They should be f***ing ashamed, and just like Leeds are forever remembered as dirty, this lot will be forever remembered as snitching corrupt cheats that couldn't do it on their own footballing merit.

Maybe Sky should refuse to screen any Forest home games, thus reducing their income.
The owner stinks to high heaven, who the f*** does he think he is?
Make sure Neville is in our Directors Box for the Forest game 😂

Wow he's is precious isn't he?

I'm starting to think that a HF tifo on him will hurt his likkle feelings.
