Time to start doing Business Steve..!!

Nothing tangible is going on, only complacency.
OG, when he walks could sue,for breach of contract, given apparently assurances that there would be signings early in the window.
What a joke.
unless it was written in his contract ( which I’m confident it wasn’t ) , he would have a hard job suing although I’m sure if he spoke to Palace’s lawyers they’d probably take the case !

I think one of our problems is that we don't rate our own youngsters or players we initially brought in for the Academy (such as Devenny) highly enough.

Devenny gets better the more he plays. He's shown he's got confidence in his own ability. At Wembley last Sunday, it wasn't just that he put his hand up when Glasner asked for the 5th penalty taker, he walked up to the other end with a confident walk. He took his time and wasn't phased by Alisson's slow return to the goal and then he slammed his kick where he said he'd envisaged putting it. Nerves of steel.

I note the Beeb has him (and Esse) among their 21 break out players this season. I'm confident that Devenny will prove to be worthy of a being a first team starter before the end of this season. I'm hoping Esse might prove he's worth regular minutes off the bench and ultimately a replacement for Sarr
I agree with you mostly but I do think it is a little unfair t say we undervalue our youngsters, we can only rely on the coaching staff to say if they are good enough or not. Statistics show that only 4% of the top performers ever make it to EPL standards and that is reflected by looking back over the last 10 years from our own academy to see how many have made it to EPL level. I'm sure Devenny will come good and hopefully this season soon but even he is not a product of our academy having joined our u21 from Scottish Football in August 23.

Am i the only one who is totally sick of the Guehi and Eze farce, IMO they need to take part of the blame, they both have agent company's, Eze's Situation is strait forward, get the release clause amount before the time runs out, if not your not going, Guehi needed to make his mind up earlier and say what he wants, not drag it out, both have a little respect for the club, although they are not blameless, so they can move forward and prepare for the 2025/6 season.

Silva has now complained about Fulham's 'passive' window.

Bournemouth have lost 3 of their back four, keeper and 2 of their forwards.

Brentford have lost their manager, 2 of their best players with a third refusing to play.

Meanwhile Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have spent hundreds of millions of pounds.
Looks like Forest are trying to join them if rumours are to be believed.

Where finances are concerned we are clearly not alone and appear to be in the former group rather than the latter.
It's increasingly the pattern in the Premier League and I suppose we'll just have to get on with it.
Hopefully we'll buy another gem like Olise and Wharton, but after a handful of games the recognition will sink in that it's just a matter of time before they are off.

It's the modern game which means sustained high level success is not really achievable for us.
In fact in reality it's remarkable that we have done as well as we have such are the odds stacked against us.

I know what you mean, but as I used to get told in my working life, “ you are responsible for your career, not your employer “.

Ebs has release clause and he has no input as to whether that is met by a prospective purchaser. It’s between the buyer and seller to agree on.

With Guehi, I’m a little surprised he hasn’t gone yet but he knows he needs to be playing week in, week out this World Cup season.

If he decides to stay put, the upside is Palace aren’t forced into the market at this late stage and sign a replacement that may or may not work out. We got lucky with LaCroix a year ago.

I also think the clubs financial landscape will change next summer which may soften the blow of not getting a fee for him. But that’s probably optimism getting the better of me !

We will have Henderson, Richards, Lacroix, Muñoz, Mitchell, Wharton, Lerma, Hughes, Sarr, and Mateta,
Not a bad 10 to start with, hopefully Nketiah, Doucoure and Riad back by Christmas, Esse and Devenny promising young players, not all is doom and gloom, but we need more, even if we got 4 loans of premier league standard players i will be happy.

Why is it a farce? What are you expecting Guehi & Eze to do?

Make a F*****G decision on what they want
Or maybe show a bit of f***ing respect for the club that took them out of nowhere and turned them into England superstars , Guehi was rotting away on the Chelsea bench and Eze was in some shite Championship club no one ever heard of .

Yes, i basically agree, but for me the Eze Situation is sorted today, release clause over, no 68m, no leave, i hope Eze and his agent has been told that, with Guehi it is different, he must know what he wants to do, Liverpool bid 30m we want 40m i cannot believe that is holding things up, i think Marc doesn't know what to do, if so hurry up and deicide.

Contracts work both ways.

At the moment they are both honouring theirs.

If it doesn’t suit the club then that’s unfortunate but that’s how football works these days.

Could be worse - look at the Isaac situation

Lanzo we don’t know why not sorted. My gut is Liverpool unwilling to match our valuation and not willing to guarantee Marc will start. He wants to play in the World Cup so I expect happy to play out the last year

Football is funny business and anything could happen even him
Signing a new contract with low release clause - who knows !!!!!

You dont have to tell me how contracts work and there is nothing honorable about the way they are going about it , they have literally been prostituting themselves for their services for any club that would listen. As for the Isaac situation , we dont have the luxury of being one of the richest clubs in the world so we cant afford to leave them out of the team and go buy someone else . The point im trying to make is it would be refreshing for a change for a player to say , just for once " you know what if it wasnt for Palace i wouldnt be where i am today , im going to repay just a little bit of faith they put in me and sign an extension so the can get a bigger release clause for me " Say what you want about Olise but he did it .

I think you’re wrong - “ prostituting themselves “ - not at all.
You said you know how contracts work and then because it doesn’t suit your agenda you then ignore them.

They were both part of a team beating Liverpool a week ago, not training on their own trying to force a move.

And it’s totally relevant doesn’t matter which players or clubs are involved

I don’t want to belittle what he did, because I do agree it shows a lot of bottle, but the above also feels like it’s getting a bit excessive - he scored a good penalty in a reasonably pressured situation.

I don’t think we need to oversell it.

That’s poor.

He scored an absolutely fantastic penalty in a ridiculously pressured situation; In front of the Liverpool supporters, Alisson trying all the unsettling tricks. Televised in front of millions and a kick to WIN us the trophy!

Did you sit there all calm and just quietly clap when it went in or did you go fcukin mental?! I know which one I did! 😂

A large part of the problem is the endless clickbait and the rumours of this bid and that offer and he wants Spurs and so on. Perhaps the agents are responsible for some of it but most of it is speculation by sports journalists. After today, Eze stays. No way SP will sell him especially for less than the release clause as is speculated.
Guehi won’t go because he’s guaranteed game time at Palace and is already a shoe in for the World Cup. Why would he risk that when he is a free agent next summer and as such can pocket a fortune in a sign in fee. As for Palace, we lose out on £65 million last year or £30 million this, but he helped us win 2 trophies and may win more this year. Added to that his decision not to sign a new contract last year probably saved us a tidy sum in wages.

I would also add that you being naive about Olise.

Yes, he stayed instead of joining Chelsea. Yes, he signed a new contract. Yes, he left a year later with a £50m release clause.

To put that into perspective, Newcastle are paying nearly that for Jacob Ramsey !

Michael was not only the most talented player I’ve seen at Palace, he was also the best advised !

The f*** are you bleating on about my agenda ? i dont have one . Yeah they were both part of the team that beat Liverpool a week ago , soon to be part of a team trying to beat us . Im pretty sure its not Isaacs choice to be training on his own. I have my opinion mate and i dont care what you think .
