Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

I am most disappointed at not reaching 300 posts before the decision was announced. We had a chance to do something truly historic but typical Palace….!!!!
Do not despair, Mad Dog. A few more meaningless postings and we will surely achieve something truly historic, and it’s all for the greater glory of Crystal Palace and its unique presence in the game of ‘football’.

Anyway, at least we can rightly claim that our postings make far more sense than any decision that U€FA and CA$ might make!

Bravo Palace! This statement makes known the feelings of fans and most of the rest of the footballing fraternity. Anything stronger would have attracted a legal firestorm.

It says 'we will continue to take legal advice', but, especially after seeing how drained Mr P looked in Lausanne, I personally hope he doesn't expend too much more energy, time and money with very little hope of a successful outcome.

I suspect the amount of time it took the legal team to agree that wording - making feelings absolutely clear, but without crossing the line that would allow for litigation - is why it took so long for it to be issued, but well worth the wait!

Brilliant statement! It lets the world know how one-sided the process is and how people who know where the bodies are have influence. Well done Steve. Now, if the fat bloke has to attend the match make sure Turkish food is on the menu in the Direction suite.
According to Simon Jordan the fault lies with Parish and the statement is him absolving responsibility for the current situation.

Absolute b0llocks! This is the real problem:-

The denial of all disclosure requests to obtain correspondence between the relevant parties, the refusal to allow witness testimony from those involved, and the general lack of formality and respect for law mean decisions cannot be properly challenged, leading to pre-determined outcomes.

That is both very revealing and totally damning of the whole process. I hope a copy will be on the top of the inbox of the new regulator.

The football world is with us. Excepting Simon Jordan and the BFG. Who make strange bedfellows and Simon would need a lot of clothing because he's not going to see much of the duvet.

SP is 10 times the man that bitter little w*nker Jordan is. He has our club’s interests at heart and has clearly been drained by this whole unseemly episode. We’re lucky to have him and should show our appreciation of him at the Forest game.
It would be nice to think that Ollie, Marc, and Ebs would give him and the club their support by extending their contracts and helping us win the Conference this year and the Europa next, but I appreciate that’s wishful thinking!

There's two parts to this for me.

1) I'm not upset we won't be playing Europa league. It's too demanding on our squad right now and our league position will be compromised as a result. I'd actually rather play Conference and have a good crack at winning it. So in actual terms, I'm not disappointed with this result.

2) I am a man of principle and the injustice is what I can't get past. It's such blatant BS on every level. I feel like we've been completely made an example of and common sense and empathy has fallen by the wayside in favour of, UEFA not being seen to be defeated. It's everything that's wrong with football.

Those two points are the tension in my head right now. It's not fair. But I'm kind of relieved at the same time.

Ugh

This is a perfect summary of how I feel on the matter.

Our club statement is clear and hard to argue against and I’m happy with that.

Great statement.
Heartfelt, truly heartfelt and inspiring.

You know when you’ve been stitched up, and now you know the whole world knows it!

Palace’s entry into Europe’s footballing theatre is going to have, and already does have a unique moral purpose that goes way beyond simply playing a game of football and maybe winning a trophy.

Every club will proclaim: FAMILIES - COMMUNITY - CRYSTAL PALACE (or whatever club they support) but only we can proclaim it with a special testimony and purpose ‘that characterises this incredible club.’

And if we follow Simon Jordan’s so-called insights: the sun only shines when I go to the toilet!

In hindsight we may have been better served by not involving Forest in the appeal since the disclosure rules didn’t apply to them and their 5 strong legal team were given the opportunity to cross examine Parish with no reciprocal rights for our legal team.
The process was clearly loaded and if anything it almost ‘legitimised’ Forest’s involvement.

Nonetheless, I recognise that the judgement appears to have been pre-determined and we would still have been out on our ear.

My hope for the relegated teams this season-
Nottingham Forest
Notts Forest
Forest
