Time to start doing Business Steve..!!

One aspect of being in Europe (whichever competition) is the need to keep within UEFA's FFP rules which I think relate to wages as a percentage of income. It has been suggested that we might be close to tipping point. If so, then we may need to shift some players before we can buy any more.

That rule is meaningless we have just seen it to be the case with likes of Chelsea you get a small fine that is all.

It wouldn’t surprise if there was truth in that. There is a fair bit of dead wood in the squad that needs shifting regardless of FFP rules. If true it’s all the more reason to try and move them off the pay roll.

Yes 70%. We have been around that figure with numbers going in right direction. We have already offloaded number of wage’s Turner, Chilwell, schlupp and ward even allowing for the loanees who returned as only Edouard and Holding on big money

As we are at serious risk of losing nearly half the first team- Eze, Guehi, Mateta and Munoz, I suggest the club do get a move on and please avoid paying over the odds for other clubs cast offs like Nketiah etc.
The only person we have to sell is Eze, and that is only if someone meets his release clause, if it hasn't finished, Guehi should be sold for financial reasons but is hardly irreplaceable, the rest, just say NO, doesn't matter what they want.

they got fined 31m Euros with possibly more to come. But UEFA don' accept sale of womens team and hotels as part of earnings unlike the PL

What on earth gives you that idea? Don't tell me that you're swallowing all that clickbait nonsense. The only player we might have to sell is Eze and only if:
  • his release clause is still active and
  • a bidder offers the full amount and
  • he wants to go to that club (remember Olise turned down Chelsea even though they triggered the release clause and he signed an extension with a higher release clause which was triggered the following summer by a club he did want to go to)
All the others are under contract. Other clubs can want as much as they like but the deals will only be done if the board deem them right for the club and Parish is on record as saying he won't sanction more than 2 key players going in a Summer window.

I think Guehi is going to Liverpool - deal just needs finalising..!!

I would want Elliott as part of the deal..!!

Then we can bring in Diomande - as I’ve said before think that would actually strengthen us..!!

On Eze - if Arsenal want him insist on Nwaneri as part of the deal.

Then bring in Hackney and Rav van den Berg from Boro.

Then it’s just RB cover - Calabria on a free..!!??

Do this and we will be stronger than last season..!!

Still nothing on the transfer front - no incomings, no outgoings..!!

Our season starts in earnest a week on Sunday - with the Community Shield..!!

£3M spent to date just ain’t going to cut it whether we’re in the Conference or Europa..!!

We can’t keep dancing around this issue and doing no business, whilst others strengthen their squads.

We’re linked with players - but nothing tangible happening..

Is it just me or is no-one else getting concerned..??

Come on Steve time to start doing the do..!!

When the season starts and when the transfer window closes are 2 completely different dates. I get your eagerness for something to happen, but my guess is we will see more the last 2 weeks of August.

I'm not worried about the meantime, as I quite like the current squad, including that Sosa fellow, who looks to have slotted in quite nicely.

A major plus is that Glasner has the pre-season structure he wanted centred around the training camp this week in Austria. The games, this window, have been arranged so as to get our players up to speed for the start of the season.

After a lethargic performance against Millwall, our first XI looked fine against Crawley albeit for 45 minutes for most of them.

Today's 60 minute games against Mainz are the next step in preparation and then full games on Friday - 2 games in 4 days and good preparation for a European season.

We should be able to hit the ground running come the Chelsea game and hopefully have a strong start to the season.

Of our key players I don't see more than 2 leaving this window (Eze and Guehi) and I'm not convinced that both of them will necessarily leave.

As for incomings we dealt with the essential cover positions early doors with Benitez and Sosa. I expect there will be more over the next month but it's not vital that they're here before the season starts (preferable yes but not vital).

Yes some other clubs have strengthened but others seem to have panic-bought and let's not forget that Liverpool hardly did any business last Summer but still surprised everyone by galloping away with the PL title.

There's a lot to be said for having a settled well-prepared squad that knows exactly what the manager requires of them.

Its totally clear SP and co know what they are doing. The team didnt do too badly last season after all? Its so easy spending someone else's money. If we can keep hold of all our star players I'll take that as a pretty decent transfer window. Keeping some powder dry and having a financially stable club to support is fine by me.

It’s not totally clear to some people on here !

Last summer was about replacing two important first-team players, which the club managed to do. So far this summer we haven't lost anyone who was a first-team regular and so as it stands it is more about strengthening the squad. If no other first-team regulars leave and we have no major injury issues then we should be ok, but I would say at the moment it wouldn't take much of an injury crisis to put us in trouble. Also, whichever European competition we end up in we will probably also need to rest players to prevent burn out, so if we don't sign anyone it will then be a question of whether any of the U21s are ready to step up. Only Glasner is going to know that.

Unless we sell a first teamer, IMO we need 2 more players this window - a CB and an attacker. We haven’t played our loans card either yet
