Time to start doing Business Steve..!!

Your usual anti-Parish bashing rubbish.

Get your dates right first of all - August 10th in the Community Shield is 3 weeks away.

I agree that the squad could do with some additions to support a European competition, but bear in mind that Glasner, who has won the Europa League previously, also prefers working with a smaller squad.

If we end up in the Conference, that could be an opportunity for some of the U21 players to step up - some people on here consistently moan about their not being given a chance.

One of the problems, not '' the problem '' as you incorrectly state, was the late business conducted in the transfer window. But far more impactful was the absence of a proper pre season for players on England duty in the Euros and our Colombian pair in the Copa America .

You seem to think Parish can wave a magic wand and make transfers happen. It doesn't work like that. Palace have to strive to do the best deals that they can get. That can mean doing late business like when we sold Andersen for £30m and replaced him with a younger, better player for a little over half of that.

As regards Guehi, again you demonstrate ignorance. The player is under contract. He clearly favours a move to Liverpool. But if they don't come in for him, he has a right to stay put. So how exactly do you expect that to get '' sorted out '' ?

Steve Parish isn't perfect. But I think Textor was right when he described him as '' the smartest guy in the room ''.
I’m not ā€œAnti Parishā€ - just pointing out that he appears distracted by the whole Europa thing and ignoring our need to recruit early - which he has a history of doing..!!

I’m certainly not ignorant - I understand the Guehi issue maybe difficult - but Liverpool have put in multiple bids - so SP agree a price - I would like to see us include Elliott in the deal..!!

Whilst I may not be ā€œanti Parishā€ - I would counter with you have too much faith - SP has left our transfer dealings in the window too late season after season and he’s doing it again..!! Wake up..!!

Thanks for correcting me on my dates - but frankly it’s irrelevant - we need to start doing our Business now and urgently - otherwise we’ll be where we were last season..!!

I understand that you don't hold Parish in a favourable light, but "loving the limelight"? Get a grip..!!

We can only have 25 seniors in the squad, any others are a waste of money..!!

Oh, and ..!! šŸ˜‰
You seriously think SP doesn’t love the limelight - think it’s you that needs to get a grip..!!

Yes there are only 25 seniors in the squad - but that squad need to have depth and quality in those 25 at the moment that is not the case..!!

Look at this way - after Chelsea took Chalobah back in January - we had 3 centre backs playing in a system that required 3 centre backs for the rest of the season - we were fortunate in that we had no serious/long term injuries in that position otherwise things would have been very different.

Munoz never got injured - we had no back up..!!

You just cannot rely on that again..!!

That’s why we need to recruit in depth quality..!!

You make some good points but you are saying Guehi is over rated? If yes in what way is he over rated? I think he has been excellent for us, although I do agree I’d rather cash in and sign a longer term replacement to battle with Chadi Riad for Guehi’s role
Mate - he scored 3 own goals last season - highest in the Prem - one of those was absolutely awful defending..!!

Take our 3 centre halves in Lacroix, Richards and Guehi - on performance last season where would you rank them 1 to 3..??

IMO - Lacroix head and shoulders number 1, Richards at 2 that headed clearance with Haaland lurking at the back post in the FA Cup Final probably won us the FA Cup and Guehi at 3..!!

Look I’m not saying he’s not a good player - just not as good/irreplaceable as some seem to be suggesting.

IMO a back 3 of Richards, Lacroix and Diomande would be far better/stronger and consistent..!!

But football is a matter of opinion….!!

Until they move one or two out , it’s not likely anyone comes in , we are already overloaded, with four senior players out on loan last season.
As it stands if we don’t lose anyone, OG should be fairly well satisfied with his preparations, he has everyone that he had last season , unlike last pre season, they are all in and working together nice and early. If it’s decided to bring anyone in he will have time to get them up and running because they won’t be needed to displace anybody in the existing 16.
Things do alter if any of our main players leave, but that’s a situation no one can be completely on top of ,but if they did leave then the club have the means to cope. They probably have targets if this should happen.

How do you know negotiations aren't happening regarding transfers as we speak? Have Liverpool actually put in bids, if so what were they?
Transfers are always difficult unless you want to pay way over the odds, the current strategy has worked out too bad, since Parish has been in charge.

If all players are retained there is no need to recruit.
I would personally like Guehi & Eze to be sold, Ā£100 million buys maybe 5 young players with potential, players like Elliot, Cresswell, Morton , Van de Berg , Mcatee ( apologies I was impressed by the England u 21’s performance in the Euro’s)

The 1st 11 & back up like Hughes, Lerma etc are drilled in his formation & now know it inside out.
If he can train the likes of Ozoh, Franca, Esse, Sosa, Kpohora in the system & get them up to speed, then it should be an interesting season.
Obviously injuries may change the situation.
I know UEFA are bunch of corrupt scum, however I would rather win the Conference, progress to the Europa & win in 26/27 and then enter the Champions league with hopefully the new stand ready. That would piss UEFA off!
If we can keep Glasner I believe anything is possible.
