It gave the view that CAS will use most or all of the time up to its deadline given that Notts Forest and Lyon may need to make representations and then CAS will have to analyse them. It suggested that Palace would likely be in the Conference League draw on 4 August ‘subject to CAS ruling’ up to a week later.

It's interesting to me. I ponder whether we (or Forest) could have a two legged playoff draw and then be swapped out of it a week later. Logistically that's unpalatable for all involved, including the team lined up to play us or them. UEFA have really fudged themselves here.

To add another dumb scenario (this whole thing is dumb anyway) imagine we had to play the first leg of the playoff and Forest had to play the second leg of it! Or one team played both legs and won, then got swapped out, essentially qualifying somebody else for the first round proper.

All trustees owe a duty of care, there are specialist insurancers who underwrite trustee risk, any idea that they aren't independent is to completely misrepresent what they do.

History is littered with examples where people should be independent but are unduly influenced or do a poor job. I struggle with the concept of blind trustee in football and I don’t think it is a suitable solution

CAS will surely have to expedite our case before the play off, or Uefa will have to give either us/ forest a bye into the group stage...its absolutely laughable

One thing I did think about is that it is interesting that UEFA have not confirmed Forest’s place yet (obviously I assume they were waiting for us to appeal). However, I wonder if this means that they cannot appeal being demoted to the conference league as they were not confirmed to be in the Europa league in the first place. Essentially, they haven’t lost anything technically.
