Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

OK you clearly have no idea how the trustee process works.
I know how a trustee process should work, but how does it work in relation to an active football club where it is clear that the owner will never back away and take a back seat with regard to his investment. Surely it’s just a sham.

You just know that if there was a major financial decision to be made about the club, they are not going to phone the monkey, they’ll go straight to the organ grinder.

What is the punishment if he gets caught doing this?

Heaven forbid!

They work in exactly the same way as blind trusts used by politicians all the time

So they don't really work then 😀

It only really applies to government ministers not MP's. Most politicians don't actually own businesses which they actively run. They have investments e.g. stocks and shares and are quite happy to have a blind trust manage those same way as I have a pension fund manager who makes all the investment decisions for me.

If they have directorships they resign them. I guess there maybe a small number of them that actually own a "real" business which they run in that case like the Forest guy they appoint a mate to do it for them, and of course they never discuss any major decisions with them.

The point is that they work for UEFA surely?

Politicians are under the media spotlight all the time. It's rare for the spotlight to fall on the owners of football clubs.

Of course there will be a barricade of plausble deniability but the reality is obvious. No one but Marinakis will take any of the important decisions. They might be translated via nods and winks but anyone who believes otherwise is deluding themselves.

Err no.

It's supposed to be somebody who is independent but capable of making good decisions on behalf of club owner or government minister. UEFA don't appoint them or have any control over them as far as I can see.

It's a joke as we can all see what is going on. If you owned a business would you allow a stranger to run it and to keep you away from any decisions? Of course not so you get your mate to take instructions on the QT.

UEFA going through the motions.

The bigger joke is that the real scandal here is the collusion between Forest, Lyon and Botafogo which has nothing to do with multi club ownership but with owners doing deals and possibly influencing matches the very thing the Multi Club rules is supposed to stop.

Has the CAS response to the Palace appeal been posted here? It's not an answer, just their press release, but it does contain some interesting points.

So the parties are now exchanging written submissions. Which we won't get to see, as they remain confidential. At least for now.

No doubt the correspondence between UEFA and Forest is expected to be included. Will it be and if not what will our lawyers suggest as a consequence? It feels to me as though Palace have an informed idea about what is in that correspondence. Competant lawyers don't ask questions they don't already know the answer to.

I agree, I suspect we have access to some rather damning correspondence

Yep, the fat Greek buying Botafogo players to help get Lyon out of financial trouble to in turn get Forrest in. It might not be illegal, but is underhand at best.
