Good trolling.
If your intention was to make yourself look stupid, congratulations are in order.
Thank you, but I don't need the internet to make me look stupid, my stupid face does that for me.
No I wasn't trolling but I couldn't think what else to say. But I'll have a go, then I'll leave this thread alone (there's a reason I don't delve into the murky depths of the "news and politics" thread!)
Your headline argument of "There is no God and I know better than everyone else" came through load and clear. I agree that was very consistent. But your posts are sketchy on the details. e.g. you actually are open to believe in some cosmic whatever, without proof, while anyone who actually does believe in it is too stupid for words. So why leave the door open, is it in case you get a lobotomy? I don't understand. But wait, 2 posts later you don't think that's possible anymore. Phew, no lobotomy needed.
It's like that the whole way through - you contradicted your earlier posts twice in your first three replies to me.
And the spaghetti monster argument is nonsense to a person of religion, as I'm sure you are aware as you seem intelligent and well read so that is just deliberately baiting them. You already know this no doubt, but no one has any lived experience of a spaghetti monster, it is clearly and openly a made up parody and doesn't address the question of "is there something, or nothing", it has no coherence, no historical or theological basis, the list goes on. Whilst God also probably doesn't exist, based on eye witness accounts of people who claim to see him or have experienced his presence over thousands of years across the entire planet, it is infinitely more likely that He does (or something approximating to a God at least). No one has seriously claimed to have seen or experienced a flying spaghetti monster - Dawkins admits he made it up. And to pre-empt your response to that, yes you can argue that the loch ness monster is also infinitely more likely to exist than the spaghetti monster and no that doesn't detract from the point being made.
I think if you anyone is going to write as if their word is gospel, they should make sure it is a bit more consistent than the actual gospel (to also include Lanzo-Ad's point!). And hopefully realise that this is a really serious topic for some people - it is their whole lives, their purpose, their reason to exist. I think it's beyond contempt the way they've been spoken to on here, especially by fellow Palace supporters they stand next to week in week out, and indirectly to the players we cheer on together every week. There's respectful dialogue and there's being a keyboard warrior (Yes I realise the hypocrisy of my own there, I promise I won't make a habit of it).
Anyway, that's why I joined the conversation. I think I did contribute but unfortunately you missed it. And apologies (seriously this time, not sarcastically like last time I apologised) if it looked like trolling. I thought a couple of well placed traps would make the point but that appears to have been too light a touch.
As promised I'll leave this thread alone now, so you can respond with whatever you like - apologise for being rude, shrug it off, defend your position or go on the attack. It makes no odds to me I won't read it.
I will leave you with Eaglesdare's opening sentence of this thread, and our little to-and-fro sums up exactly why he phrased it the way he did.
In the world we live in today I find it so refreshing to see our players openly talking about their faith and even in the goal celebrations. And even in interviews Eze praises God first.
