Is Glasner the problem?

Agree, however, Kamada was signed reasonably early in the window and had a full pre season with us to help 'adjust' to the pace of the game here and the physicality. It appears 6 months on he has not adjusted at all.

The window wasn't ideal but clearly getting the wrong players in doesn't help too e.g. Eddie N has never played in any position other than No 9 so to play him elsewhere and see him struggle was not a great surprise to most people.

Just to point out a few things. You give Eddie a pass because he's out of position but don't proffer the same courtesy to Kamada who only recently has been subbing for Ebs in his natural position, and has been playing better there when subbed in.
I'd also argue that a few weeks extra time with the team early in the season does not equate to an adequate 'seating in' on a move from a lower non-EPL league. I don't think you can compare the two situations.
There's a lot of unwarranted hate out there for Kamada and Nketiah. Both are deserving of and need our support. I don't think either is a bad player. Position played and circumstance are a large part of the root cause of their struggles, imo, and I hope they will continue to play and get better in the next half of the season.
Otherwise, Happy New Year all. Hope for a happy and prosperous 2025 for all and Up the Palace.

Hear! Hear!

I would just like to ask all the people who were calling for Glasner to go: How do you feel now?
I hate the calls for managers to go because of a few poor results.
I feel I was genuine in my comments at the time, but got it wrong.

C'mon, it's football! Without the constructive criticism here, he would never have achieved such great performances! 😉 🙂
BTW, I once met a lady at work who immediately showed me that she didn't like me. She's been my wife for over 10 years now.
I don’t disagree (and congratulations btw) however, reading that opening / first post again did rather make me smile 😀

To be fair I don't remember many people on here who were calling for him to be sacked.

I think most of us could see what he was trying to do and were prepared to give him time. That plus the board not really backing him at the start of the season !

I was pretty scathing about Glasner in September / October during those drab performances. Not that I wanted him sacked, but I was sure Parish wouldn't have the patience to let him turn it around (and that we'd probably be relegated either way).

Very happy to have been proved wrong and confirm that I know nothing about football.

Indeed

Glasner has proved he is a manager who knows what he is doing. The board needs to have a good think about how it plans for next season, particularly given that our slow start this season was partly due to leaving things too late with incomings and outgoings and as a consequence not giving OG enough preparatory time to organise the side to his tactical liking.
Given that we will be playing extra games in Europe and there is a possibility of us losing one or two high profile players it is obviously necessary to get maximum transfer fees for those players and spend wisely in return. With Freedman gone I am curious how scouting future talent will progress henceforth.
On the brighter side of things we finish in our perennial 12th place with record points and with our first major trophy in hand too, progress!

Isn't Iain Moody back involved with us in some way?

She was playing hard to get!

BTW, did the Austrian media mention Saturday?

I'm still clinging on for top half.

Unlikely with Bournemouth home to Leicester; and we may have a tricky away fixture..?

Yep. According to wifey who watched the commentator of the evening news published an instant message right after the final whistle. Sports part of the news a bit later had it as top news and even provided a short clip of the goal, Hendo's saved pen and the final whistle. Match wasn't shown on Austrian public TV but extensive coverage in print and online media started right after the Semi.

I say, I say, who was that lady I saw you with last night?
That was no lady, that was my wife.
Apologies Hannes
