It is interesting. Personally, I think that this hysteria is probably a case of both sides not truly accepting just how much of a difference Trump is going to make, for just good and bad.
My own take is that non-Americans are actually suffering from a bit of Stockholm syndrome. That they have almost become institutionalized by what has been effective US colonization of much of the West since the end of WW2. Effectively sheltering under its wing whilst calling it a c*** at the same time. And now the US is taking its ball away, and deciding not to act as an Empire (Empires always, despite the claims of exploitation, end up subsidizing those they colonize) then everybody throws their arms up in the air despite the fact that if you see economics in terms of a nation-state zero sum game then the US have been pretty unfairly treated.
What we on the Right have to realise is that Trump, Musk and co are NOT coming to our rescue. Which is fine. How it should be.
Our true allies are our brothers and sisters in Europe. That is our future.
The US is giving up on being an Empire. And the sooner we all come to terms with that, the better.
