Thomas Frank is a proven EPL manager and did a really good job in building a strong team. If we’d have got him in when he left Brentford, I’d of thought we’d pulled off a bit of a master stroke!

But I don’t know why I’m not overly enthused.

The prospect of Dyche isn’t exactly inspiring

However, I think we will go down if we don’t do something about the way we are defending. I think Canvot in particular has been a bit of a liability (in the air especially). But if Sage clearly isn’t doing anything to remedy it - we have no choice.

Survival is everything this season so I think a proven EPL record is key at this stage.
At Brentford, he lost 8 of his first 10 games in charge after succeeding Dean Smith.
This scenario would not go down well at our club !

One could argue that having been extremely fortunate to win against Fulham and Forest that we could be adrift already at the bottom of the league. That’s the way I see it. We are actually in an inflated position. Get rid of Sage and Hobbs now. Parish too.
Correct.

F* ck the Cups and Europe, let's concentrate on the League and we may stay up!!

What we need now is stability with dyche then go again in a couple of years with some solid foundations.

But we've seen what we are going through with other premier league clubs through the years when their time is up. Signs are there.

We need to buy two great central defenders and a right back. That’s it assuming Sarr and Mateta are playing in which case we need replacements for them too. That’s about 300 million.

2 wins would currently moves us up well into mid table. Can Sage get them?

In my view I think his race is run and an announcement will be made after Liverpool.

That will give whoever comes in (we all know really who is coming dont we) time to sort what he has to work with then a shopping list of what is required will be made and you would hope that purchases will be made (though no holding your breath as you may well go blue). We have enough to survive in my view. But we have to accept that this re-set will last another couple of years and we again stabilise.

Sky Sports sugggesting Anthony Barry is a prime target as a new head coach for Palace. Current no.2 to Tuchel for England and famous for his honest half time interviews at the World
Cup

This is completely at odds with Parish's view that the manager should have experience. No 2's tend to have a high failure rate, when they step up. There is a big difference between whispering in the Kings ear and sitting on the throne making the calls.

IMO, Dyche is the only manager that guarantees survival, his team will be well organised, defensively based, solid, balls into the box from wide and a massive improvement on set pieces at both ends of the pitch, i am not expecting flowing football from him, just basic coaching to our strengths, give him an 18 month contract.

Much against my desire to have the team play exciting, attacking football, I think we just need to find a way to survive this season. The problem is that Dyche was sacked at Forest ad Everton for presiding over a relagation scenario. I really don’t like any of the names being bandied about and sadly we are not in the class of Pep etc.
