Prehaps because none of our players have a clue on how to play that system without weeks of work on the training ground? If you've ever played football at a high level you'll know training sessions are tailored specifically to the system we play. Switching to a back 4 is asking the entire squad to rip us their training schedule and start again. That would be fine if 1. we had the players to instantly be able to do that and 2. we had a pre season and weeks to work on it.This is the pertinent point. If a back three was working I could see why there was a risk in changing. Where’s the risk right now? We have the worst defence in the division, conceding almost 3 goals a game and we have a 75% loss rate. It’s almost inconceivable we could get worse defensively by changing it
