Ismaïla Sarr

Well I wish we would/could grow a pair but what actually happens is something different and its not just happening to us. Which tells me that we could never get that kind of money for a player like Sarr.

So we sell for 55-60 million or we reject the bid, the player throws a wobbly and we have a useless player, to us at least, who underperforms on the pitch and upsets the balance and mood of the team. Or we could be lucky and he gets his head down and scores another 20 odd goals for us..

Is there another scenario?
Ask for 75 mil and tell the player that's what we want due to him irreplaceable he is. If he wants to still throw a strop, there's time to reconsider.

Liverpool reportedly bailed on Minteh because Brighton wanted £80m and they only wanted to spend £60m. I can't see Liverpool going above 60 for anyone.

I can understand selling players with a year left on their contract or who have a release clause but if every player is for sale this will all end in tears. We’ll get cherry picked then our useless DOF will buy a load of shite and we will end up getting relegated. Sarr needs to be a line drawn in the sand…..

I think this is all part of the plan and the next step in Palace's development and Sage has been tasked with the rebuild, to do which means looking at the squad (he played most of them in that Como Cup business) and raising funds through sales for player purchases. Whether I'm correct in my assumption and whether selling off so many in a short space of time is wise (see what I did there) remains to be seen.

For those who continue to insist the Sarr story is made up nonsense.
The above is his agent pleading for for respect and the player being correctly valued in recognition of what they bring.

I translate this to mean a plea for a bumper new contract for Sarr at Palace or a lucrative move away.

Either way, a ' nice little earner ' for the agent.

Interestingly, at the end of last season there was some talk of Palace trying to tie Sarr down to a new deal, but that seems to have gone very quiet.

What about respecting the contract your client signed

Sky reporting this is almost a done deal - £120 m.
Exactly - and penny pinching with us. They can do one. It feels like they caused this with Isak. When players did that previously they tended not to get the move, as the buyer would get put off. Isak was a pants transfer in my opinion anyway. Too lightweight and not a good attitude. However, it's ruined things for everyone else: not just Newcastle. Liverpool's spending has to be considered as crazy, frankly. And they want to haggle with us.

Not sure he is throwing a strop
Apparently he's happy at Palace but for some reason doesn't want to play in the same team as JP🤷🏼‍♂️
