You can't really say no to him moving to Liverpool, as long as they come up with the cash. That would be a big move for Sarr.

The only thing is, can we find anyone to replace him before the window closes. maybe not as proven but maybe a hot prospect?. We are really going to miss him but I can't see how we can avoid this happening.

I would much rather we manage to keep Sarr and get shot of Mateta. I know I'm not alone on that..

He is at his peak value. If he does not want yo stay sell for 70m+ and Mateta for 20m+. Use the money to buy a decent young centre midfielder and young ish centre back. Chuck Gozo in for Sarr or one of the others. We have half a dozen who can play in that role. Played not bad first half vs Everton without Sarr and Mateta missed his usual clutch of chances. Still have the ingredients for a decent team this year just needs the right mix and let a few players bed in. As has been said before Mateta, Lacrouix, Eze and others took time to shine, people are too impatient and write players off. They need a run of games, then we can write them off e.g. BJ.
 
No we can't replace sarr that quickly we have known that this could happen from thr start of the transfer window and done sod all about it, our 2 best center backs also sold in the space of 6 months for combined total fee of 72 million and we bring in a loan from chelsea until the end of the season ?

Any player can be bought by a big club. We cant premetively buy established replacements for all of Wharton, Henderson, Lacrouix, Munoz, Mitchell, Sarr, Mateta, Canvot and others just because someone may or may not buy them. We tried that in January and got screwed for 80m for JSL and BJ. All we can do is try and repeat the process of finding new young Whartons, Sarrs and Matetas who may take time to get up to speed. Sadly we are not a club of infinite means like City, Chelsea and Liverpool who can stack their benches with stars like Eze.

Yes i understand that but come on 6 months and only a loan from chelsea to replace loss of our best to center backs and 50 millon for sarr if ture its taking the piss, if i took 6 months to replace 2 of my best carpenters i know where my business would be going

Of course he's worth more. He's worth a 100 million to us but what we can get for a player who wants to leave, at the end of a transfer window when a big club like Liverpool or Man City etc show an interest is the question. That is the reality we face. I just hope we can get as close to our 60 million valuation as we can.

Bollocks, everyone else has been charging Liverpool 100 mil. We need to grow a pair.

Not loads of comparisons in the market that suggest he's worth anything like that.

Sarr is 28. Only 4 28-30 year olds in history has been sold for more than £55m.

Lukaku, Kane, Bruno Guimaraes, Casemiro.

Wissa went for £54m at 28 having scored 19 PL goals the prior season. Objectively the top end of Sarr's market value probably is about £55m.

We're obviously entitled to reject it but I'd be surprised if anyone offered more.

I don't really care. Just put a much higher price on it because they will pay it. It's how business works.
