The bbc, again.

You might not agree with their opinion but who's to say it's not a carefully considered response.
I am! Not all of course, but enough to make a general point. Based on the influences they are under. Influences that are often quoted in places such as this.

Influences that are demonstrably untrustworthy and politically biased.

As I write this I am watching the BBC’s own investigation on part of this “Inside the rage machine”. You should watch it.

Presumably those on the left are similarly susceptible to untrustworthy and biased outlets but you never mention them. A centrist approach which only looks to criticise one side isn't very centrist.

In other BBC news their lawyers have asked the Judge in Florida to dismiss Trump’s claim against them. The arguments seem unanswerable to me. Whether a Judge in Florida whose advancement could depend on Trump agrees will be interesting to see. You can read it here:-

Which outlets are there on the left that have any real popular reach?

Please don’t say the BBC!

The primary influence comes these days on social media.

Novara Media, Left Foot Forward, Open Democracy, The Canary, Double Down News, New Statesman, Tribune, Socialist Worker, Weekly Worker, The Guardian.

Compared to the Mail, Sun, Express and Telegraph they have very little reach.

The Guardian and New Statesman reach some on the intellectual left but not those likely to be affected by a populist approach.

Only those who believe that any opinion other than their own must be to the left would think that.

I am very confident that most don’t see either as anything other than broadly neutral and objective.

Sure. Channel 4 news is completely neutral.
