Mateta

How do you sell a crocked dog, that hasn't banged in goals for many a month, and has an appetite for premium dog food ?
Realistically, I don't see any takers. And certainly none who want to pay his agent's unrealistic wage demands
Mateta and his agent have just royally messed the entire situation up.
Maybe we could raffle him? Like the man who raffled a greyhound which was dead - didn't anyone complain?
Only the bloke who won so I gave him his money back.

A raffle is not a bad idea. We could sell tickets at a fiver a pop and hawk him all round Europe (kind of like his agent was doing) showing videos of him when he scored and fudge over the 20 odd chances preceding each goal that he misses.
Should take some tickets down to the south coast on Sunday. I'm sure we can tempt Bloom to snap up a few thousand tickets 😉

We should do a postcode lottery. The twist being you have to guess the post code his shots will end up in. (Hint: it won’t be the same one as the goal)

Footballers aren't known for their intelligence as being proved yet again by Mateta. He seemed keen to burn his bridges with Palace, when Milan showed an interest until they found out he is lame. Palace don't need him now they have signed Larsen, who wants to prove himself here.
I expect him to be sent off for surgery on his knee and away from the first team squad, then a few appearances on the bench at the end of the season to get interst to sell him.

How on earth does it sound like Mateta is the issue based on what he said? You're making that assumption to fit your own agenda. All he said regarding our bad form was 'inside the building we know exactly why that is, but it's not to be spoken about outside'. It's the standard 'keep it in the dressing room' line.

After the forest game did hendo not say something along the lines of "we want players that want to play for the club"?

whatever it was exactly it was quite obvious who he was aiming it at!

"To be honest it was not a big surprise to everyone that he could fail [the medical]. We knew that this can happen and he knew it. There are two ways we can do this - manage the knee like we have until after the World Cup, which is JP's dream to play in. The other one is he undergoes surgery. We don't know how long he would be out. We will decide next week"
You're not fooling anyone Oliver. Most likely you exacerbated his injury by flogging him like a donkey every game when he could have done with some rest. Eddie Nketiah was fit at the time but your one dimensional approach couldn't leave Mateta out, notwithstanding his ill-advised desire to leave, despite the fact that he was playing with an injury that now needs, surprise surprise, surgery.

Surely theres only 2 options for Mateta:

1- He immediately has operation so the club can sell him late summer for a decent amount.

2- He signs a 2 year extension to his contract with a £35 million buy out clause. This enables Metata to manage knee issue for rest of the season giving him a chance to make world cup France squad and then having operation at a later date.

Also among their forwards are
Mbappe
Dembele
Thuram
Muani
Nkunku
Coman
& Olise
Who's he getting in ahead of?
None of them, he has a poor attitude and has been playing poorly. I hesitate to say he's a poor player but it's quite tempting to think that. He also seems to have an injury that should have been treated. He's not going to be regaining form by sulking either.
